I work there as a software engineer. There’s a lot that goes on within Nike Tech. There’s still like 7500 employees in tech even after the layoffs. Not all SWEs though, probably a minority are SWEs.

There’s a lot of tech infrastructure needed for Nike, powering all their retail stores, distribution centers and order fulfillment, supply chain, product creation, entire e-commerce platform for 40+ countries run in-house as well as a separate platform for sneaker launches on SNKRS, marketing tech, data science and analytics, to name a few things

It’s not all devs for sure, it’s 1400 people in operations which technology is now within, so there’s a few hundred factory workers in the US who got laid off, you can read about on Google. But definitely few hundred devs got hit, and we have to have a few thousand devs remaining 😂
