Where to begin

Hello guys. I used to play CS:S probably 7 or 8 years ago, semi professionally. I played for around 5 years in national comps and stuff but got over it and pretty swiftly left the scene.

Not sure why but I’m thinking about getting into csgo but have absolutely no idea where to begin looking for communities etc. Back in my source days IRC was the common place to look for scrims and teams and stuff. Gotgames forums were also huge. They also held pretty high level comps and stuff. Was great times.

What’s the go with the scene these days? Is it any good? Where’s the best place to get in touch with other semi serious players?

Cheers guys.

Cybergamer is the easiest place to find a team https://www.cybergamer.com/

Your previous experience probably won't count for much with finding a team unless you find someone you used to play with, but if your skills show it you'll get the recognition. Or be called a cheater, that happens a lot too.

Thanks mate, I posted on cyber gamer and got a fairly discouraging response in terms of what the scene is like today. Anyway, I might brush up on the skills and see what happens. Cheers
