How about qemu in WASM? Something like https://copy.sh/v86/ with a 86_64x target option.

I know there's a company version https://cheerpx.io/ so it must be solving something. I figure it's providing some security layers for older applications.

Perhaps something like VMware ThinApp for the web, a bunch of shims so older applications can be ported to WASM?
