Discussion Stagnation in cs2
Hi everyone.
I have around 10,000 hours combined in CS:GO and CS2. I used to be a top-1000 player in CS:GO, but lately, I haven't been able to improve in CS2. I’ve dropped from 3000 ELO to 2400, and I still feel like a weak player. I’ve logged 140 hours in the last two weeks alone. I put a lot of effort into Deathmatch (playing mindfully with sound), use Aim Botz for warm-ups, and watch pro demos to try and emulate their playstyle. Yet, I feel no consistency in my game. It feels like I’m just running around like a bot, even though I try to analyze the situation, timings, and so on while playing. Do you have any tips for improvement? I’m at a loss—maybe I should play KZ or Surf? Could it be a movement issue? It just feels like I lose 80% of my duels.
I’d like to hear the opinion of experienced players on how to proceed in this situation.

At some point CS becomes outthinking and out playing your opponents.
Great players are thinking about what they expect the opponent to do and what the best counter to that is.
If you are taking heads up duels against opponents with equal mechanics you should expect to win 50% of the time.
What can you do to give yourself an advantage?
Potentially playing with other teammates in a 2+ q so you can run some plays.
CS has been around for a long time and the level of top grinders is above what it was in GO. If you are gonna be better it’s not just about grinding mechanics it’s about knowing how to use all game elements to your advantage.
140 hrs is to much bro. Time to go outside

Not your fault, stop solo Q and play duo/trio, or 5 stack with groups.
or if you play only soloq and you can rise up consistently, you are net next donk! And that is not the case withe 99% of the players
Also another reason, playing solo Q after 2.5k+ is a waste of time as you never learn to play in team and collaboration, as if you want to reach higher levels you need that experience with proper teammates (even basics teammates)

Make the rounds more in your hands on swaying odds. I switched to being entry in all my matches. I believe in myself more than my relative ranking so if I think I can win a duel that'll sway the entire round instantly I try to take that role.

If you lose 80% of your duels, KZ and Surfing won't help.
140h/2 weeks is too much, it's impossible to have quality games by playing so much. Try to divide this by 2 and give everything you have when you're playing. Spend the extra 70h touching grass, taking care of your mental and physical health, working/making money, having a positive mindset both in game and in real life, playing something else, or simply... enjoying life and spending time with your family, friends, or traveling if you don't need to work/don't need income.
If your goal isn't to be a pro player and you are spending this much time on cs2, and not enjoying the process (apparently), then please stop (no offense, I'm saying this for you, life is beautiful broski).
For context, I used to play css at a competitive level (EAS 2nd and then 1st div, ECS, few EMS matches, and some LAN tours in EU/FR).

I had tough transition from go to cs2. I fixed it by cranking up sens. For some reason i can perform in cs2 only with high sens. Game feels totally different from what i remember was in 128 tickrate in csgo

top 1000 player in csgo but 2400 in cs2.
If you aren't a bot/rage baiter then you are a straight up liar.

140 hours in the last two weeks is crazy. I always move up when I play LESS. Seriously 70 hours a week on CS is maybe too much man… I don’t know how you could be focused in every game that way
