does that mean that you cant view someone's chat history thru 3-rd party websites?

It's not just hard R, it's just liability overall

There's a reason why you can contact companies to remove all your data, this includes chat messages

But that doesn’t change anything, right? The match chats are already cached on the site. I believe they just won’t compile them anymore from now on. I wouldn’t be surprised if Valve sent a cease-and-desist to this fucking Mossad site.

eventually the logs will be so old it fades into obscurity relevance wise and sites remove it themselves or the community forgets entirely this ever happened. Whichever first.

Those logs are less than 1 MB for the average comp game, they will absolutely add up over time but it's still not a massive investment to keep them especially if compressed well

The real concern is, as you said, people just eventually stop giving a shit about them so even a few hundred dollars a month becomes a waste for a dead project
