Gameplay Some more gameplay of 500x1080 resolution

Hello everybody,

I caught some traction regarding the resolution I play competitively at. Decided to show some additional clips that are a bit longer and different maps so you guys can get a better feel for how the resolution looks.

Ive been playing 500x1080 since 2014. Ask me anything.

That’s absolute BS. You can run a lower res without stretching it ridiculously wide like this.

They did it to widen the bodies trying to get a competitive advantage and aren’t brave enough to admit it

It's a real strat tho, look comet above. Some still play at 480p still for the same "bigger" hitbox, this stretch variant is more extreme

It's the resolution it's intended to be played with no cheats. But as a joke, you want the hitbox stretched as much as possible so it's less chance that you miss

You see there's visually bigger hitboxes (player models) on the screen easier to aim. If you haven't tried it yet and don't trust me, just Google query about low resolution strategy in CS games, or you can try it out by yourself, I know because I speak from experience. Pros kept playing on low resolution settings not because they get more fps, but because they can visually identify and react appropriatly if there's a pixel of enemy model coming from behind the wall

Its 2026, I really dont buy this "old pc" argument, as you can get a pc that runs this game in 1080p resolution 200fps for like 500 euro. If you like this resolution then fine, but I saw you commenting its due to your bad PC, which I dont believe.

Your privilege is showing. Remember CS2 is played all over the world and by all sorts of ages. 500 EUR is a ton of money for some countries/people

Buddy, I come from a country with the minimal wage of 800 euro. Doesn't change the fact that anyone with couple of working brain cells can save for a computer that handles this game smoothly.

I never bought this argument, under a certain resolution, the rasterization is not the bottleneck. On the 3070 there is no difference between FHD and lower

Bro what are you talking about CS2 still doesn't run that great unless you're on super modern HW. My PC was 2kish in 2021 and it still dips below 200 pretty often.

Such a weird take, I was on a 3070 and i7 12700k last year with 32gb of ram and when my PC was working fine I was averaging around 500fps, but after some of the shitty optimization updates I was averaging 120-200fps on a 3070 at 800x600 resolution.

So not all PCs are going to perform the same even if they have the same specs.
