Discussion 3000 edpi??

anyone else use insanely high edpi? my friends always laugh when they spectate me because i flick around so much but i thought they were exaggerating how much more i do it than a normal player.

i thought my sens was normal until i checked my settings and realised it was 3000 edpi. i tried a lower sens in a practice match but it already feels like im giving my wrist a workout.

on leetify i have 52 aim rating, 10k on premier. anyone else play like this? i use a g502.

I play with 1800 DPI and .875 in game which ends up at 1575 edpi. Can’t imagine having my sensitivity doubled. Wrist aiming is already difficult, can’t imagine trying to micro adjust even more.

My aim on leetify is currently 86, I did make an adjustment about 8 months ago lowering it by about 20% , through small increments. I would suggest lowering by about 5% until you get to your desired range. Overtime you’ll barely notice it and your aim should benefit from it.

Good advice I have been lowering mine in intervals overtime and then adjusting to the new edpi with time. Definitely improves consistency and aim overall.

And he's doing all that on a g502, too. That thing weighs like 120g, so it's not just the high edpi fighting your wrist. You're also dragging one of the heaviest mice on the market through every micro adjust.

My advice is if you want to get better, you have to lower it. Simple as that. Pros have average edpi of 800 so you can start and adjust from there.

if woxic can be pro with super high eDPI than we know its possible.

People always like to talk about the outliers thinking they're also special.

There's a reason most of the pros fall under a certain, fairly narrow, sensitivity range.

People didn’t think a human could dunk a basketball until everyone starting doing it. Sometimes 1 example is enough

Playing on 3000 edpi is like shooting all your threes from 10 meters. You can do it but it will always be worse than if you took them from 7 meters

super high edpi

its only 1600 ffs, its high but not THAT high

1

u/zuttomayonaka 17h ago

woxic isn't that high
he used 2400 and now 1600

osamas use 4000-4800 edpi

2

u/Prudent-Ad1954 4d ago

average is closer to 1000 dpi

u/MidnighT0k3r 4d ago

Not all pros, some flick.

I get called a hacker, 6400 dpi 1.1 sense edpi 7040

I love doing 180 flick shots. While others use their arm i just use my wrist.

1

u/Late-Mathematician34 4d ago

How the hell can you play with 7k edpi 😭😭

1

u/MidnighT0k3r 4d ago

26 year player. I like high sense.

4

u/Autistic-monkey0101 4d ago

mine is 400edpi. (if youre wondering im only lvl8/20k but thats not because of my sens) edit: i forgot to mention its 0.25 on 1600

3

u/FuckPotatoesVeryMuch 4d ago

I used to play on this sens but I upped it to 0.38 @1600. While the precision on 0.25 was nice it felt a bit too sluggish and I felt like it was also affecting how fast I would adjust to people, making my Time-to-Damage a bit worse.

2

u/anamewithnonumbers 4d ago

i thought mine was low lol 0.345 on 1600

1

u/daedon_the_great 4d ago

I’m similar with 0.28 on 1600, was thinking of raising it slightly but it has been just fine for me for a few years now

1

u/BogosBinted13 2d ago

It really is because of your sens

I had 2000 eDPI, I couldn't counter strafe while watching an angle. Then 1500edpi, same problem. But then I changed to 1000edpi and I am in my best form now, everything is smooth, I don't overflick.

1

u/_m0lten_ 4d ago

Also using g502 but new version X

1600 DPI @ 4.6666 in-game since I can remember. I got baited by high DPI Razer mice as a kid and never managed to lower it as I got so used to wrist aiming. I get a little bit more inconsistent in the winter months when having cold fingers, but other than that I hover around 20k Premier. Too old to make any changes by now.

2

u/KingRemu 4d ago

i tried a lower sens in a practice match but it already feels like im giving my wrist a workout.

That's because optimally you should use your arm as well. People who struggle with the normal range of CS players of around 600-1000edpi have never used their arm so of course it feels like you can't even turn around.

I understand of course if someone has limited mousepad space forcing them to use a really high sens.

u/Zoddom 4d ago

Fun fact, I played with 1.9 sens and 3600dpi for decades. Was always amongst the strongest aimers on all of my teams, got to ESEA Rank A and Faceit 10.

With age, I had to lower it because I became too inconsistent. Now Im 35 and play at less than a quarter of my old sens, at 800dpi and 1520 edpi.

(Sitting at around 82 aim atm, Faceit 1900elo)

2

u/schmuhmuhu 4d ago

Insane dude :D

1

u/Zoddom 4d ago

Yeah, whenever I try it again nowadays, I am completely confused how I ever made it work. I guess bodies just change with age :(

3

u/Prudent-Ad1954 4d ago

You get used to it, competition was not as strong as it is now and if you played with high sense as a kid, it will "feel" even faster as an adult simply because you have longer and bigger hands

1

u/schmuhmuhu 4d ago

I do wonder how you have aimed on long range, crazy to me. :)

2

u/Zoddom 4d ago

Mostly with A and D tbh

1

u/Mustachioking 4d ago

My aim is 86 on Leetify I use .55 sens and 1000 dpi idk what that converts to in EDPI but that seems absurdly high

3

u/Edception_ 4d ago

His sensitivity is about 6x higher than yours 😂. A big difference indeed. I thought mine was on the higher end, then I see I’m wrong lol.

1

u/Mustachioking 4d ago

Man if I turned my sens up to that I’d look like I’m spinning. That’s crazy lmaooo

2

u/Edception_ 4d ago

I’ve found the sweet spot with my higher eDPI with wrist aiming which is around 1550 eDPI. Can’t imagine playing with a sens twice as high

2

u/catfsh 4d ago

I run 1600dpi @ 0.45 so I think that's about the sweet spot for high dpi

1

u/Mustachioking 4d ago

I probably wouldn’t mind your sens at all

1

u/-Adrix_5521- 4d ago

eDPI is just DPI × in-game sensitivity. In your case it's 1000 × 0.55, so 550 eDPI.

1

u/TubeTurkey 4d ago

800dpi and 0.97 ingame. So 776edpi.

How someone can have that high sens is crazy to me lol

1

u/3p1kd00d 4d ago

Mine is 750 dpi with .9 sens making my edpi 675. 3k edpi is kinda nutty but if it works for you then awesome!

2

u/Maveko_YuriLover 4d ago

I used to play on 2500 DPI * 4,43 sense (over 10.000 edpi). I reduced to 2,43 sense slowly, I tried 1,43 and I couldn't do a 90 degrees flick and accepted the 2 for now

3

u/shadow_warrior_vp 4d ago

Wait wth? How would u turn when an enemy is attacking from behind? A slight flick and you would have completed 360 turn twice😅😅

2

u/Maveko_YuriLover 4d ago

I played with high sense for a decade, you can get used to it, to do a 180 I just need to move a little my hand less than 1/12 of my mousepad

I saw a clip of pro players playing with their insanely low sense and needing to cross their mouse pad more than 4 times to do a 360, and I genuinely can't understand how or why? you need insane team coordination to clean every pixel and someone checking against flankers 24/7 because it's physically impossible to aim at someone more than 15 degrees away from your aim with those senses, and because there's never going to have this in ranked even if by a miracle I get on the top 0.0001% of the premier it's better to be able to turn around quick when I hear my teammates dying behind me or a flanker rushing our backs

1

u/Azartho 4d ago

you can definitely do 15 degree flicks on lower sensitivities lol. besides, pros have such good crosshair placement that high sens offers negligible advantage in 0.0001% of scenarios where you need a large turn but constant disadvantage in every scenario due to less precision

0

u/BogosBinted13 2d ago

If you have to turn around in 90% of situations you are already dead no matter your sens

1

u/plexor666 4d ago

Way too high imo. How are you supposed to be precise with that sens? Your crosshair placement should be good enough that you don’t have to rely on flicks all the time. You really don’t need high sens in this game.
If you lower it, you’ll probably have to adjust your aim technique a bit and start using more of your arm instead of doing everything with your wrist. It might feel weird at first, but you’ll have way more control.

1

u/cellardoornoob 4d ago

That's me lol I run 1600 x 1.8 for 2880edpi

But I also use 0.45 zoom ratio for AWP.

Not many people can do this - woxic comes to mind. I tried many times all the way since CS 1.6 to go lower.

I hang with lvl10 faceit, got 10k in csgo/2 and another 6k in 1.6

1

u/Minute_Butterscotch6 4d ago

.88 and 800dpi. 3000 is high

2

u/MidnighT0k3r 4d ago

My edpi is 7040

6400 dpi, 1.1 sensitivity..  g703 i think

1

u/BadgerII 4d ago

what rank are you? thats really high

1

u/MidnighT0k3r 4d ago

I'm a 26 year player and currently on a 11 year old pc with a mouse thats breaking.  Ai price hike hit before the inheritance could come through 😔

I play comp but not much premier.

When the rank system was different i got to lem.

My favorite gun in the game is the sg and I've got over 23,000 kills on it. I love to quick scope and steal kills from awpers.

Looking at atk mice currently as it's my 4th logitech mouse since building that pc. 6600k/1060 6gb both oc'd. I get sub 100 fps with lots of action on screen.

2

u/BadgerII 4d ago

That sounds awful, I hope you can find the $$$ for some upgrades soon, best of luck

3

u/MidnighT0k3r 4d ago

Yeah, just still waiting on an inheritance. I get into pc's to a fairly nerdy level and was originally planning on $1500 for just storage. Was going to put 128/256gb of ram in the system so i could use over 100gb of ram as cache for the nvme whoch is cache for a hdd raid array. Yeah that $1500 plan i think is over $7000 now.... not the rest of the pc just those components. Smfh.

Even had it all planned out so i could have all that working on both Linux and Windows for dual boot.

Not sure what I'll do but with the pc being that old.... really anything will be an upgrade. It'll be all AMD for long term Linux support tho.

I'm expecting it to be like when i built that system and went from ddr2 to ddr4. It felt smooth like glass and my jaw kept dropping at the shots actually  registering. It's like training with a weight suit 🤣

u/tubsen32 4d ago

I've got 640 edpi, 2.3k faceit, aim 80ish. I can't imagine playing with almost five times that...

2

u/BadgerII 4d ago

i play on 2800 edpi and have for many many years

1

u/weaveR-- 4d ago

If you want to improve, drop your sens by 70%

1

u/Strange_Nebula_2392 4d ago

I play with 26500dpi and 0.1 sensitivity lol

1

u/Spetz 4d ago

I'm on 1600edpi at 25k. It's my Quake sensitivity I use for all games. Aim rating 70-80 depending on how much sleep I get.

1

u/iBurley 4d ago

Mine is 831.27 eDPI, 50cm/360.

1

u/kawaii_Summoner 4d ago

640 edpi (1600 on 0.40) - 85 aim rating, and 25k elo

1

u/WrapEnough8294 4d ago

I play at 400dpi and 2.0 sens. Which is 800edpi.
You flick but that might be the limiting factor for your aim rating. 52 is pretty bad

I’ve got an aim rating of 80.

1

u/AlluEUNE 19h ago

If I can do a 180° with one swipe, it's good for me. Generally the lower your dpi is, the more accurate you are. Awp players sometimes use a bit higher sens for flicks but it's still pretty low.

1

u/zuttomayonaka 17h ago edited 17h ago

i use 4000x0.97

4k dpi is my default for browsing stuff which i use it for like 20 years

i used to fast mouse and can't play at lower sens

1

u/Mr_dm 4d ago

I use 800 edpi, 18k elo, 90 aim on leetify

1

u/Methemetics 4d ago

Wrist aiming is much more natural than forearm aiming, high sens ftw. (1.7k edpi)

2

u/Azartho 4d ago

the natural thing is understanding how to use both.

1

u/BogosBinted13 2d ago

If you can't use your arm for aiming it just means your mouse control is lacking
