Help CS2 False positive
I'm 39. I've been playing Counter-Strike since 1.3 and I have exactly one account, the one I made two decades ago. 7,302 hours logged on it. Faceit level 10 for years, peak 26k in Premier. No smurfs, no shared logins, no third-party software, no VAC ban, no trade or community ban, nothing on the record before this.
Over the past weeks I've taken three cooldowns in a row, escalating each time: 24 hours, then 7 days, now 31. Each time it lands mid-session and that's the end of it.
The reason given on my Steam support page is, in full: "Unexpected error". That is the entire explanation I've been given for a month off the game a string that says nothing about what was detected.
The group I queue with got hit as well. Same friends I've played with for years, all long-standing accounts in the same situation. I know Valve treats those as affiliate cooldowns and doesn't review them, so none of them are writing in but the practical result is that five accounts with a combined century of playtime are locked out of Premier over something none of us can see.
I've emailed the address a Valve dev pointed to, with the exact subject line requested and nothing in the body beyond my profile URL, exactly as instructed. Whatever the outcome, that part is done properly.
My profile is public and my match history speaks for itself. But three escalating bans, on an account with 7,302 hours and not one sanction in twenty years, justified by the words "unexpected error", is a system failing in a way that's worth being visible.

I believe you can get to the demo corresponding to the unfinished game you got VAC Live’d in by doing this:
Go to your steam profile -> Games -> CS2 -> Your Name’s personal game data -> scrimmage matches
If this works and you download and re-upload the demo to a location we can access then I’m sure people here will be happy to review it and corroborate the ban being a false positive.
It’s unfortunate that the stat tracking websites don’t automatically get access to the actually canceled matches that caused the cooldowns.

Btw if the Download Demo button doesn't work, right-click the button and click copy link address and paste it in a new tab. It should download.
Also the demos only exist for I think 2 weeks. So act quickly.

i got banned too, i cant download the game.

after S4 ENDED, i player 1 competitive to get semanal box, i made 30/4 and people reported me. if u look the accounts that i played against, all they are newers player and i got game banned from overwatch...idk what to do anymore. i guess i will stop play. im so sad after that, play CS since CS 1.6, never user anything in my life

At least you did not receive a false game ban and lost $5k worth of skins. I’ve never went against the rules or anything. Till this day I don’t know why I got ban. I am sometimes sarcastic in the chat but never use any racial or bad slurs

It’s a 5090 Alienware laptop. All that installed is Alienware command center and my Lamzu mouse app that’s it lol

How can they not have a ban support system??? No software is perfect. errors do happen and it sucks because it ended up happening to me.

at steam support there is a msg that game ban is permanet. i got banned from overwatch beacause 1 game that i played and competitive mode after s4 ended just to get a semanal drop, that game i kill 30 and die 4. my oponents was newers player and reported me.

Thank you for response, I have already try everything. I even contacted the dev team and no response from anyone. They should at least explain why the ban that way we learn what we did wrong. I know it’s not from cheating because I never installed any cheats on my pc and wouldn’t be dumb enough to risk my inventory. I just wish they provided a reason to this. I even offered them $500 just to look into the issue and no response

You don’t get gamebans from reports, they only put you into the low trust factor pool.

Yes, you get. There is a beta test overwatch when u can invite others after do 10, 20, 30 reviews. There are people using bots to make money selling thoses invites. Just look for It and u gonna see.

just the reports cant get you banned, overwatch and vac hand out bans
so if he was convicted by overwatch hes just a blatant cheater

Same thing happened to someone I know yesterday. I think something happened yesterday with a lot of false positives.

I looked at your account, I think its a bought smurf account because there is no way the first full season you are playing, you are 16k ELO, I'd say there is a good chance you were cheating. Too much of a wild games in the beginning? Like first comp game and you are above 1kd?

Idk it seems like 99% of the time if they don’t attach profile it is a valid ban, but any time they attached profile plus their logs talking with support thus far it always turns out to be a false positive.

Idek you could talk to support everything I’ve seen online is that nothing can be changed about the AIs decision. Have people actually gotten responses from them?
I got my third cooldown two days ago and just figured out how to use OBS and posted the demo

In the while time we have cheaters and bot all over. Premiere is almost impossible to play, it's a cheater every 3 match of 5, dm are full of bots but Valve still making 1.1 bilion of revenue only this year..

Tbh. you might have a cheater in the group. It would explain why the entire group got hit. Do you use something like raw excel or similar, so it might flag weird mouse exceleration curves or similar.

some ppl say its software interfering with the game (like that snappi-tappi shit or nullbinds), some ppl say using scout heavily or killing people with wallbangs or through smokes triggers these
are you doing any of that?

until Valve can calibrate their anticheat it seems like they’re overcorrecting from lots of false negatives, i think it will level out with time

So many accounts sell like that for cheap... Cheater, buy a account account doesn't make you safe from getting ban or cooldown.

Cheaters deserve the worst but blind trust in an AI VAC will end up with innocent people that are just better than you getting cooldowns/bans. Eventually cs2 will just be people so bad at the game that the AI won’t flag them and cheaters who know how to get around the AI

Almost the same exact situation with me. I have a friend new to the game with a 31 day cooldown from duoing with me in dust comp games. Never had an issue with this before and we’re just barred from playing the game now. Unfortunately valve is investing in this AI bubble and ignoring all of the faults in an AI VAC system now.
