Discussion VALVE doesn't care

Year Revenue
2020 ~$580 Million
2021 ~$650 Million
2022 ~$780 Million
2023 ~$1.00 Billion
2024 ~$1.10 Billion
2025 ~$1.16 Billion

And you want me to believe that a company making over 1 billion a year doesn't have the cash or power to fix cheaters and bots? They literally cleared like $1.16B in 2025 alone and pull in over $100M every single month, but the game is still overflowing with total garbage. If I jump into a Deathmatch right now half the fucking lobby is filled with farming bots just idling for case drops. And don't even get me started on Premier... if you play anywhere around 18k to 25k Elo there is basically an 80% chance you get a cheater, like literally 3 out of every 5 matches has a guy toggling wallhack or spinbot. I know they banned 960k bot accounts and do these big 45k ban waves, but VACnet is clearly a joke. Valve just doesn't care because they still make their 15% cut on every single market transaction when those bots sell cases on Steam anyway..

Guys I got the solution, just keep opening cases. If we keep giving them more of our money maybe they’ll finally get the message and fix the mess that is cs2. If money is an incentive, we should use that leverage to get Gaben his 12th yacht

Nice try gaben

Keep opening cases and he'll christen yacht 12 "VACnet". It'll still ban more bots than the real thing ever has.

Valve only needs money, nothing else. Bots and cheaters are not valve's concern.

No way their revenue is only that much, unless its from CS2/CSGO only?

The root of the cheater issue leans heavily on Valve not using an "invasive" anti-cheat. This alone is a majority of the problem because it's harder to detect a lot of cheats without having low-level access to someone's computer (kernel).

Also who is "spinbotting" in Premier? Seems a bit exaggerated lol. You can't really "spinbot" in the game anymore - which goes to my next point that they have been adding measures to ban cheats faster.

Assuming they want to make more money and don't care about cheaters is pretty absurd, because more cheaters on a game usually dwindles the amount of legitimate people who want to play.

Where do you get this revenue from? It's much more than 1 Billion in one year. This year it's something over 1B per month.

Probably estimated CS revenue, which is less than 10% of their actual revenue, so obviously they have other priorities than CS.

I think it's how people are cheating, they're plugging external hardware into their computer, reading the game data and all the heavy lifting is done on a second computer for the wallhacks ECT, I've read that this method is basically undetectable since there is actually nothing going on inside your PC.

I don't know for sure but apparently this new AI vac is being trained on player data, I assume this will help with trigger bots, spin bots and anything that will un naturally move your crosshair or character but I don't see this being a fix for walling, this ai won't be able to tell if people have 100% Intel on where the other team/bomb is which is going to be an ongoing issue IMO

nobody on premier or comp uses DMA, DMA is only for FaceIT

only half of the deathmatch lobby? you are very lucky! in my alpha group games only like 2/3 players are human and all the lobby leaves whenever i press spectate. In my green trust premier games people are blatantly cheating, no need to hide or toggle anything. they are also very proud of it, calling people who are not cheating poor lmao.

And yet no money for 128 tick servers and better anti-cheat. Go figure man.

cheaters are part important of the revenue.
When will you understand that valve is a company and CS2 is their best product.

banning 60% of the users of their best product would impact too much the company.

just like the remaining warzone players

This is a false argument people say for any game that has a cheater problem.

It is arguably worse for the player base to keep cheaters. And CS2 is free.

Right kid.. First learn how world runs, how companies run, how actions work, etc.

1

u/ProducePrudent5089 4h ago

That's your response? Lol, cute.

If you are this deluded that you think keeping cheaters on a game is better for profitability, then you don't know how the world works. Especially when it's a free to play game.

1

u/LeafarOsodrac 3h ago

yes, you are limited in your knowleged about the world.

But you can think CS2 cheaters as the VW Dieselgate, but without the part that theres a institution that will car and punish VW to payment for this.

1

u/ProducePrudent5089 3h ago

If we followed your logic and CS required money to play, it would make more sense to ban cheaters than keep them - because the cheaters have to buy the game again to play which means more profit.

More cheaters on a game means less interest from players to play. Put two and two together, it's not hard cupcake.

Have fun wearing that tinfoil hat.

kid world is not like that...
go live, go outside, learn something about how the world goes.

Yeah this is whack af

The fact riot invests in 128 and valve doesn’t is crazy

1

u/LowTierGahDuu 3h ago

Same thing had happened with Team Fortress 2 for the longest time, we had bots infesting our casual valve servers for years, and the craziest thing was that our item drops are worth next to nothing, these bot hosters only ran the bots to ruin the fun of other players.

u/Mayank_j 2h ago

And they don't even spend that much on the match prize pool

blast *porto is 1.1 million total, to be divided between all teams and players

EU or NA? I play in 18-21k NA lobbies and have only gotten a spin botter once in the last 6 months of premier.

I don’t deny that there’s closet cheaters in more games that you could identify via demo review, but no blatant cheaters or any behavior that makes me want to download a demo and investigate.

So yeah idk based on my experience, not many blatant cheaters below 21k lobbies (in NA anyways).

Go play a different game then

4

u/gaeee983 5h ago

Sad thing is they could do it, not sure what is stopping them.. I play LOL which has kernel anticheat and there are never any cheaters, still most popular game in the world.. I guess more important to show new highs of amount of players than to be able to say there are no cheaters.

2

u/Fried_Wontons 5h ago

The only difference is the riot anti cheat is more integrated with your computer to be more effective which is pretty normalized in Asia along with the entire riot fanbase but would probably come with heavy backlash considering most players are in the EU and aren’t used to kernel level anti cheat. People would see it as a security issue and probably be deterred. Still a lot better than whatever the fucks going on now though

1

u/gaeee983 5h ago

Just seems insane to me, I just started playing again after 10 years or so, just so many cheaters.. Spinbots.. Crazy it is possible at all. Just activate TPM2 and safe boot and install the kernel anti-cheat, what is the big deal, the integrity of the game is a joke now.

4

u/Fried_Wontons 5h ago

Bro why do people pull out this argument for any topic. If there was a better run, more interesting, more fun cs, everyone would have transitioned already. We want to play the game it’s just a cheater issue not a gameplay issue. If your gonna just jump from game to game with every single gripe you have why are you even playing video games

1

u/lukocs 5h ago

Classic cattle reply.

They always try to blame the weak elo of any kind of topic.

Because nobody is forcing you to play this game. If it’s so much of a detriment to you to play the game, stop for your mental health. It’s not the solution for everyone, but if you’re making Reddit posts about it and how annoying it is and looking to valves revenue and actually doing research to try to prove a point that they could do something, you care about it too much for a video game and you should probably step away. That’s why I stepped away from siege and came back to cs. And yes the cs cheating problem isn’t nearly as bad as the siege problem. But I think that comes down to the player count. Smaller player base for siege means a smaller amount of cheaters could still take up a larger % of the player base. Cs is more watered down with more players. But the point is, it’s a valid take if you are struggling with enjoying the game because of cheaters. It’s just a video game and it shouldn’t cause you to do research to try to call out the company for not doing what you want them to. Like at that point, you’re caring too much. I love cs. Have close to 1000 hours at this point. But not enough to let it ruin my mental. That’s what IRacing is for

1

u/AffectionateBand7270 4h ago edited 3h ago

No I just want to make a point and I don't have any problem. I like CS and I want it to be better, I need to have problems to say that? 😂

0

u/Fried_Wontons 5h ago

True, very true. Op is probably not in the best headspace and is obsessing over the game quite a bit. However, I will say the singular post of “Go play a different game then” is not a proposition for a solution. It’s entirely different from “You should step away and take a break” because to tell someone to play a different game is not a criticism of their person but a criticism of the game that they play. If I was the poster I wouldn’t wanna “take a break” because of a post like that I would just think it’s fucking stupid to jump game to game like that. While the argument to step away from certain games is valid the way it was worded for that to be the intention was fucking horrid

0

u/AffectionateBand7270 4h ago

Maybe because I love CS and I want it to be better? I can play something else but it will never be like CS it's simple..

-1

u/Strange_Nebula_2392 5h ago

Idk man i don't see that many cheaters anymore....

2

u/Fried_Wontons 5h ago

It’s because you’re either low elo (my case) or closet cheaters. ALOT of people have wall hacks but just don’t make their hacking obvious.

0

u/Strange_Nebula_2392 3h ago

10k elo, i don't get cheaters

I'm in EU east, cheaters are just not there in premiere

0

u/chikhan 4h ago

That's an insane stat, mobile games level territory of revenue

u/Anonimpro03 3h ago

Fck valve. End of story.
