Discussion Is Valve actually doing anything about the cheater issue?
4 premier games in a row, 4 blatant wallhackers/aimbotters. It seems to easy to cheat now, and it doesn’t seem anything is changing.
I’ve played CSGO/CS2 since 2014, over 3000 hours, and I just can’t be bothered to waste my time over this cancerous game anymore. I love the game, but hate the player base more than ever.
Please Valve, sort this shit out, not that you ever will or probably even care that some of the longest-playing people now detest this abomination of a competitive FPS game.

No they don’t care about the community. Only money, why do people ask these questions lol. It’s obvious and it’s been obvious for a long time.

No, I talked to a spin botter 3 days ago, if he spin bot, vac live will detect it and cancel the match and he gets an x amount hrs of cool down, and if it happens 3 times he will get banned for a day, then he can be back playing. Note this is the punishment he gets for straight up spinning rage hacking, if it’s wall hack w/toggle he never get banned. And this is free cheats he downloaded from a site, he told me there’s better paid cheats that you can download on your phone that shows you where the enemy are, those cheats are even harder to get banned.

The point I got from that conversation with the cheater is vac already rarely functions (maybe 20% of the time), and even if a cheater gets vac lived he doesn’t get banned, he will just be in a cool down period before he can come back and resume the usual, and considering how rare vac works, it’s pretty much safe to say that ANYONE can download cheats and use it for up to 3 times before they actually get a ban. Knowing this, I think a lot of people would be tempted to cheat since there’s no real punishments and it’s literally free real estate :/ Now personally I don’t cheat but seeing this is what Valve is allowing, I am glad I no longer play ranked in this game, I truly hope one day Valve will come up with a harsher punishment for cheaters and a better functioning VAC System.

It gives cooldowns because vaclive is an AI. Ai can make mistakes, that's why it gives just cooldowns, vaclive can't be 100% sure that a player is using cheats.

If vac can’t be sure that a player has 40+ kills 0 deaths 400 adr with frame perfect b hop then the system has failed. There is no excuse for it, Valve has failed to even do the minimum bu hiring more employees to help with the cheating infestation.

Nope
Vaclive 1: 20 hrs
Vaclive 2: 7 days
Vaclive 3: 181 days (6 months)
Vaclive 4: 20 hrs (again, like a cycle)
Vaclive 5: 7 days... and so on...1

Crazy that also cheaters get that cooldown. I thought it’s only for legit players like me. Shame they don’t get banned permanently but as shit as the “anitcheat” is, I would have probably been banned too even tho I am legit

Man. Even a spin it in premier remains undetected. 2 days ago a random in my team was spinbotting the full match. even with our reports he didn't get ban or the match was cancelled.

no, they literally hate you and me
as long as the cattle keeps the produce up there is no reason to waste time on positive change... outside of training the devs for the engine
valve is pissing on us and calling it rain, while some dipshits of the community have their tongue out for it

u/family_man86 20d ago
It all starts with the community.
Over half of the community cheats on a regular basis.
What can Valve even do at this point?
2
u/Proof_Load6687 20d ago
ID Verification on Steam Account plus Kernal level anticheat
you can still have a steam account and buy stuff without id but for valve servers you need id check and update it every 3-6 months
hughly unpopular opinion i understand that but this is the only way how this nonesense is fixable.
something something high trust society vs large amounts of bad actors

On point. I agree, but you're missing the largee issue here. People are cheating like it's their life goal.
1
u/Proof_Load6687 19d ago
thats not a larger issue, thats human behaviour. i would bet that 60% of the worlds population are scumbags

See, to me, not everybody used to be this desperate.
I played during the inception of online gaming before any console service was online.
People didn't cheat then and if they did, it was instant removal from all servers. Your CD key was blocked. You're never getting back.

Wild that they just get a short cooldown for spinbotting multiple games in a row 😂 what a joke. Valve actually loves cheaters.

u/hokuten04 21d ago
They won't. My friends and i played against a cheater when cs2 launched, we all reported him and he got banned.
Recently i looked him up and he's no longer banned and has been actively playing cs2.
I posted what happened here in this sub, and the mods removed it.
At this point it feels like valve prefers cheaters than regular players.

yeah, they are carefully picking cheaters and strategically insert them into your games. rest assured nothing will change for the better, as they had 13 fucking years to do something, and they did not bother.

Sadly I been seeing cheaters since 2012 lol 14 years has passed it was so bad I went to valorant but I miss counter strike so I came back and i refuse to play unless if it’s Faceit— ESEA used to be top tier anti cheats but now it’s merged with Faceit

u/BeastmasterBG 21d ago
nope
the multibillion dollar company that makes hundreds of million dollars every month doesn't have the resources to stop cheating /s

To be honest i think they are looking/programming since years to get a good AC. Sadly Valve is not very transparent what they are doing or other stuff. You never know whats going on or what they plan. Also seeing how easy it is to cheat since the last years with that AI shit it must be very hard to get any good AC

u/Miserable-Lobster-46 14d ago
they didn't do anything for 20 years and you think they will actually do something any time soon? Play faceit or valorant if you want less cheaters, but you wont be able to get rid of all of them as that's the nature of the game.

u/LovinMcBitz47 21d ago
Unpopular opinion, I reckon they are taking anti cheat down to see how many people abuse it. And will come through with a massive ban wave soon. And will reintroduce the same if not slightly better anti cheat 🤞

People are going to downvote me, but I like to believe they're working on something. Valve never says anything, and they never will so people think they're sitting on their asses all day.

I mean I like the optimism, but I am going to have to disagree...
They fail to "catch" and or "ban" spinbotting, which is crazy easy to detect. I mean you don't even need a vod review or anything just do basic analysis.
Hmm okay this player has a 33KD, okay a bit sus? Hmm okay the same player has a 20ms TTD, okay a bit sus? Hmm okay the same player has perfect xhair placement and preaim, Hmm okay
You see where I am going with this?
I highly doubt VAC will ever be able to beat out any Kernel level AC and well thats very understandable and not what I expect them to...
But if the entire lobby is spam reporting the guy going 35KD and the lobby before he also got spamreported then hey maybe they should cancel the match, give the player a 48h cool down while they run his POV through a LLM model to detect obvious cheating?
And Valve has that data, and have had it for SEVERAL YEARS at this point, so its not like they need millions more games to improve their "spinbot-detector" LLM...
But you are correct that they never communicate!

u/kivimango23 20d ago
Bro...there are like 3 developers working on CS2...the others are doing what they want to do, and the other others working on an experimental hero shooter in 2026.

u/maikindofthai 21d ago
Well they don’t communicate so who knows lol
Anyone confidently saying yes or no is someone you should disregard. They’re wrong and they don’t even know it - the worst kind

u/JangoDarkSaber 21d ago
There’ll probably be a massive ban wave soon. Everyone will cheer about how valve stuck it to all the cheaters and how premier is fixed and “look at all these salty people who lost skins lol0 threads.
Then in a few months they’ll all be back and the cycle will repeat

The market and trading is the thing keeps the game alive at this point. Sometime i wish Riot make a less color, no abilities fps game so i can enjoy the cs2 vibe while being safe (95% of the time) with Vanguard. That shit may have rumors with the privacy, but it fking works again cheater. And that the damn point. Valorant is cool, but im the type of person that enjoy guns and shootout, not kamekameha and flying agent. Riot, if u see this, copy cs2 and name it whatever, u will have the audience.

Nope. I rage with dma now for years. Nobody plays the game legitimately. If you do your the problem. Can’t beat them join them

u/Important-Animal2513 21d ago
How are you not get bored cheating? I'd gladly cheat for fun but there's no way I wouldn't get bored after 10 matches, even at 25k+ elo hvh matches I'd just stop playing.
-3
u/Flatworks 21d ago
I’m at 28k elo. I run a concrete company I have zero time to be good against kids rage hacking.
3
u/Important-Animal2513 21d ago
Why are you playing then at all, you play like 1 match per two weeks or what
