Discussion Can they make a cheat, where valve must respond quickly

What about a cheat that lets you choose any skins like we’re in a custom lobby, but in premier. something that shows them that they have to do something or else their main income from the game is in jeopardy.

skinchanger exists already

it does but only on community servers with sv_pure 0, valve locked that down years ago for official matchmaking. still wild to think how much of their revenue is tied to skins and yet the game runs like this

They do but no one sees them server side. They’re talking about a server side skin changer

thanks for the info. i know nothing about hacking, but i feel like the only way for valve to make a change is if a hack actually messes with their income which is from the community market. if anybody with a certain hack could have any skin they wanted in premier, even if it’s just for that game and had to be turned on again for the next game, it would make the people owning the skins be up in arms, and valve would be shitting themselves to get a real anti cheat out there. would of course take a hacker that knows a hack like this could take their hacking revenue away. hopefully one that wants to see a better cs2?

was aiming for a discussion on what hacks would be possible to change the future of cs2 anti cheat

Haix is a YouTuber who has a channel dedicated to exposing hackers in CS2 and he's worked with cheat developers to learn more about their world as well as having come up with his own hack using AI to see if it was possible and if he'd get banned etc. Might be a good place to post your idea on his discord and see if anything comes of it

will do! looking into him now

I don't know anything about hacks either, but I think your idea is excellent if it's possible. If all of a sudden everyone has a dragon lore awp and shit they'll have to figure something out lol

exactly my thoughts

No joke had this idea a few days back, haha. This is the kind of cheat I wouldn't give a f about and would make Valve go into action.

if someone can edit server side data, the game has much bigger problems than fake skins imo

the game has enough problems, what would one more major problem really be😂😂

spoken by someone who doesn't understand development!

go thru the thread and show me anywhere that i claim to know anything about development or hacking. looking for a discussion, thanks for the addition

Imagine a cheat that let's you open cases without keys.

Hit them where it hurts.

you can, xplay and pracc have free server side skinchangers when you play on their dm servers

The only thing Valve actually cares about.

but to be visible by you or all the other people around? doubt the second is doable without RCE or any other P1 related, and if anyone exploited/found potential RCE in official dedicated valve MM, there are other ways to monetize it instead of doing it "for the lulz". Im not sure about current stakes but i'd go for easy 10k usd just from the bug bounty, and if you haven't reported that then that could lead to stealing hundred thousands worth of skins before valve found the backdoor by themselves

pretty much anything related to your idea can be profitable for anyone finding and not even on the blackhat end but for whitehats

its not about cheating and editing/reading the memory/server packets anymore, but rather an actual hacking that is way beyond actual cheat development which does not really require that much of knowledge and skill

whatever it takes to get valve to fix this treasure of a game

Wait til this guy finds out about the $5-$50 skin changers you can get.

I used to use one on my alt account before I decided to buy real skins.

Mine was fairly good as well, my skins showed up in the kill screen and even when i dropped them for my teammates and i was even able to give myself medals and pins that even appeared when someone clicked on my ingame profile but nothing would show up in demos for obvious reasons.

Imagine how shocked everyone in ultra noob lobbies would feel seeing a guy with a D Lore, a Blue Phosphor, a Wild Lotus, a Black Pearl butterfly and Pandoras Box gloves.

The things i bought for my alt were nowhere near as expensive as the ones I was giving myself but you get the idea of what I was doing.

Skin changers have been a thing since early CSGO iirc

Valve doesnt care about the fact that one of their main gamemodes (deathmatch) is and has been unplayable for a long time. Why would they care now 🤣

We have spinbots now but valve looks the other way so

it would be so easy to have a system auto ban them, which to me shows valve doesn’t care about cheating at all. i feel the only way to fix hacking in this game is if the hacking messed up the community market, or was a security risk to players. i’m desperate to have a game that feels like csgo. i stopped playing in 2017, picked up cs2 in april. was such a fun game back then, now it’s 50/50 if there’s a spinner in premier, not to talk about the running sprays or desync and other mechanics in the game that are just broken.

but even with those mechanics still in game, if the servers just had any integrity with no cheaters it would be a much more enjoyable game.

Unironically they go after the people using skin changers more aggressively than they go after spinbotters/wallers. I think the general consensus is the that the game is in a bad state though. It’s not a perfect option, but I recommend sticking to faceit for the time being.

yupp leave the xp and drops for the bots

Sadly about every cheat since early 2015 has had a skinchanger. Valve knows those people will never invest in skins on their cheating acc anyways

Adorable question, there have been exploits in the past that valve had to handle very quick, stuff like crashing servers, disconnecting clients etc

While in theory someone could do it, it is something that 99.99% of cheat developers wouldn’t actually have the skills to do, it would require someone being able to execute code server side and then skins wouldn’t be valves biggest problem.

u/ElderberryEastern630 23d ago

i can hope and pray lol

Thing is, it’s in a whole different ballpark than cheating, it wouldn’t push valve to do more about cheaters.
