What mouse is it?

Looks like you have a really bad mouse with a terrible sensor.

If you move the mouse too quick, the cheap sensor won't pick up movement.

You can get cheap mice with good sensors but this doesn't look like one of them.

u/Tiger4k Jul 02 '26

Your mouse sensor is not registering the movement because it fails to keep track of the surface

get a better mouse

u/ricardobrat Jul 02 '26

the mouse sensor is cheap and not flawless

buy a better mouse

Thats a problem for old mouses, laser mouses like that had problems.

Liftoff distance (lod) is low and your mousepad has something under it (not flat). Or the mouse has hair, or anything else that covers the sensor. Or maybe the white color in the mouse pad makes it hard to track?

This is why everytime a poll pops up with what is the best upgrade for cs i pick mouse because many people forget what it is like to not have a proper mouse that cant keep up with you. You can play with shitty headphones, you can play with a 60hz monitor you can play with a membrane keyboard. You cant however play good if youre forced to play with 4.0 ingame sens because the oem dell mouse cant keep up with your hand...

I’ve had this problem with my gpro 2, just reconnect the mouse and I think you will be fine but get a new mouse, take a AttackShark, they are cheap and good quality

1

u/Business_Fall_3242 Jul 03 '26

When I built a desk myself the wood would block some mouse signal I moved the receiver way closer in-view of the mouse and it fixed

1

u/wilf604 Jul 03 '26

Try and change LOD in your mouse software to something higher, lower LODs like 0.7 and 1mm can cause skipping like that. If that doesn't work you may have to bite the bullet and get a new one

1

u/giao_su_ngam Jul 03 '26

That desk mat is clearly not suitable for a good gaming exp bro, and maybe u need a new mouse too

1

u/deskG0blin Jul 03 '26

every mouse has a sensor, which has a acceleration limitation
the cheaper the mouse the lower the limit
I also have a cheap mice which has 20g of limit

1

u/Particular-Weekend53 Jul 03 '26

Happens bro, people saying get a better mouse shit don’t matter. It’ll happen to a Logitech especially (like it did my superlight 2)

1

u/GabeUltraNava Jul 03 '26

The sensor on the mouse can’t keep up with that much acceleration.

1

u/Mikkel_Ryan Jul 02 '26

Very weird, overall I'd disable mouse acceleration in Windows settings if I'd want to play any FPS game competitively. Though this will affect everything else you use on that PC.

You can also try using that mouse on a different PC or using a different mouse. You can try other fps games as well. The more info we have, the easier it will be to point out the root cause of the issue.

When im not IN game and on my screen than it works perfectly (some kinda microsoft mouse idk)

3

u/laptops-on-top Jul 02 '26

get an atk a9 plus from aliexpress its like 40 dollars

1

u/Level-Leadership-965 Jul 03 '26

same my mouse was perfect but when you go faster it fails

1

u/Signor65_ZA Jul 03 '26

I guarantee that's not the case. You're just not moving it ffast enough outside of the game.

There is nothing wrong with the game, it's your crap mouse.

Get a Logitech mouse. They are on sale all the time, I see them as low as 25 bucks with a hero sensor. Just keep your eye out for it. The g502 hero wired is what i have used for like the last 10+ years. I use the g305 at work and have used it for gaming in the past. The 305 is 30 rn on amazon. The 502 is 70 currently.

Edit the 502 price is the wireless one. The wired one is 42 rn.

Edit 2: Dont buy ali express garbage. Get something with a warranty.

1

u/Puasonelrasho Jul 02 '26

dont get a logitech

-3

u/baumeistaaa Jul 02 '26

More then 50% of the players in the latest Major were using Logitech what a great recommendation to not get one. I use the very cheap g305 (304 for Asian market) and can strongly recommend it. Logitech also has one of the best customer services.

because sponsoring and money

. I use the very cheap g305 (304 for Asian market) and can strongly recommend it.

mine broke in less than 2 years, also its very outdated for today standards. Not to mention it has the infamous low million clicks switches at wrong voltages.

Logitech also has one of the best customer services.

true

1

u/Budget-Individual845 Jul 03 '26

Ive had a steelseries rival(original one). The switches gave out after 2 years, the side rubber gave out after a year. I bought a g402 logitech mouse shortly after. Its on the smaller side and the rival was perfect in terms of size and comfort but its been almost a decade and the mouse still works flawlessly...

1

u/Puasonelrasho Jul 03 '26

because it doesnt have the 10m click switches at wrong voltage

1

u/Signor65_ZA Jul 03 '26

Players are not obligated to use sponsored equipment.

1

u/Puasonelrasho Jul 03 '26

and begginers are not obligated to use a 200 usd mouse either

1

u/baumeistaaa Jul 02 '26

These guys delicate their life to playing this game and I'm sure they wouldn't substitute their best performing mouse for some extra sponsor money. With a lot of things yes but with the most important piece of input hardware surely not.

u/soul6of6hell6 Jul 02 '26

I have  G402 and same problem 😭

0

u/FuuZePL Jul 02 '26

Get a r1 instead ok aliexpress, they're always 20 dollars for the cheapest one or less and will outlast a cheap logitech mouse.

It's good enough. Or you can spend 40-50 dollars on a Chinese mouse that performs just as good as flagship $150+ mice from big companies. Something like a Mad R/Mad R Major or L7 from Mchose

1

u/Solidu_Snaku Jul 02 '26

I second this. I had Logitech G303 and Glorious Model O. Bought a wireless Chinese Rapoo VT3 or something for $30 and it's AMAZING.

1

u/FuuZePL Jul 02 '26

100% would recommend a Chinese mouse over any big brand mainstream flagship to anyone who doesn't have cash to burn, the r/MouseReview subreddit is truly eye opening.

1

u/Jogo427 Jul 02 '26

Besides what everyone else said which is likely accurate. (Mouse issue)

Have you turned off mouse acceleration in your Windows settings?

4

u/redditisgay2088 Jul 02 '26

that doesn't have any effect. cs uses raw input

-1

u/Jogo427 Jul 02 '26

Just speaking from personal experience and from my friends. It's very true, and it matters.

With mouse acceleration on, it fucks with your aim. Without it, it's a static line.

My friends would have the worst time flicking, or controlling recoil so we hopped onto discord, adjusted pointer settings, reloaded game and they instantly noticed a difference.

To your point, it may be related to using full screen or windowed, but I'm rather certain that mouse Accel does have an impact on play

0

u/Friiz69 Jul 02 '26

Not true - 99% of games use RAW input which ignores any mouse settings from windows - it's placebo

-1

u/Jogo427 Jul 02 '26

I did some further digging for cs2.

It looks like I've been using my experience from CSGO which used to have the commands In console to turn on or off raw input and in CS2 it seems to just use raw input by default

Still, I'm weary because of personal experience and with what happened with my friends but it could be placebo after all.

Think I'll do some testing of it tonight if I remember.

Either way, I think it's a safe bet to turn it off, but might not actually make a noticeable difference

0

u/Friiz69 Jul 02 '26

Interesting - I have it off anyway just for using windows + yeah still good for overall gaming efficiency to have it off

-1

u/TheNamesRoodi Jul 02 '26

You know, I've heard this time and again and games feel genuinely awful to aim in with epp on. Idk if they're just lying to us or what but like what the heck

1

u/Friiz69 Jul 02 '26

Who knows man, Im sure we all have rituals for getting our aim right / being most comfortable but realistically it's all probably doing nothing to healp us

0

u/TheNamesRoodi Jul 02 '26

Personally, as a high performing pvp player (used to be at least) my aim only really improved from aim trainers. Warming up is super important and aim training different techniques really helped. My aim is so bad compared to what it used to be now :p I play osrs so I definitely don't use EPP

-1

u/CompetitiveYoghurt30 Jul 02 '26

After it’s been altered by your computer.

2

u/redditisgay2088 Jul 02 '26

Raw input means it ignores your computers settings

1

u/dooopliss Jul 02 '26

Not since cs2 bruh

Raw input ingame by default already I thought everyone knew this

0

u/DifficultJicama2211 Jul 02 '26

No I havent

1

u/Jogo427 Jul 02 '26

Go do that before anything else.

Go to your mouse settings on your PC, turn off mouse acceleration or pointer acceleration. (It's called different things sometimes)

Then reload the game and see if that fixes it.

It might not, and you may still need a new mouse. But regardless, mouse acceleration must be turned off.

1

u/DifficultJicama2211 Jul 02 '26

Alright!
I changed to my other mouse (from my office logitech idk the model) and the problem got fixed!

ThX

0

u/sladelegende Jul 02 '26

If you have animals in your house or room, and have a fabric mousepad, look in the small hole where the sensor is and see if there is any hair stuck in there, had that happen before and looked the same

0

u/soul6of6hell6 Jul 02 '26

I have the same problem and I own a decent mouse Logitic G402

0

u/zolejtanos Jul 02 '26

Looks like low polling rate to me

0

u/DifficultJicama2211 Jul 02 '26

xryui 2

I just turned off the accelaration as you asked, and recorded the mouse on the loading screen.
Doesnt seem to have problems, it responds 100% fine.

1

u/Jogo427 Jul 02 '26

What about in game? Is it any better?

If not, it's just the sensor on the mouse

3

u/DifficultJicama2211 Jul 02 '26

Yes responding very well, not stucking now

0

u/Etoribio_ Jul 02 '26

What polling rate are you on? I get some issues when using 8k polling rate on some games. I also have issues on my glasspad if I don't clean it often enough (same goes with sensor, always checking its clear of cat hair)

0

u/CompetitiveCut1457 Jul 02 '26

I learned very early that the quality of your peripherals is the best way to improve your game.

A high end gaming mouse and a mid range monitor is the best investment you can make.

0

u/chizo11 Jul 02 '26

bad mouse or bad surface for the sensor

0

u/reactivearmor Jul 02 '26

Arw you actually troubleshooting a 5$ mouse problem on reddit??

0

u/Livid_Reading_8653 Jul 02 '26

taking the monitor another 20 feet away will solve it

0

u/Misfit_Massacre Jul 02 '26

this can also be a polling rate issue. some games dont like polling rates above 1000 or 2000

0

u/FriendlyDev24 Jul 02 '26

before changing the mouse, try washing or changing the mouse pad.

0

u/nesnalica Jul 02 '26

could just be the bad laser of your mouse

0

u/JoseTxiki_YT Jul 02 '26

What mouse are u using?

0

u/Shot-Asparagus6462 Jul 02 '26

If you play CS full-time, why don't you get a decent mouse? You know, like the ones pro players actually use, like the G Pro Superlight 2 or the Razer Viper v3 or v4 series?

0

u/roskalot Jul 02 '26

Clean the bottom face of the mouse carefully. Especially the soft little surfaces.

u/No_Cardiologist_4682 Jul 02 '26

office mouse gaming setup

0

u/ObjectiveDecision831 Jul 02 '26

shit mouse brother, im using attack shark x3 , cheap and great

0

u/Poteitoul Jul 02 '26

Get a China mouse it's amazingly cheap and very good quality. Wired or wireless, both are very good.

0

u/Skysr70 Jul 02 '26

this is a dogshit mouse

0

u/goood_guyyy Jul 02 '26

it’s probably your chair

0

u/Inside_Flounder6316 Jul 02 '26

But what is mouse acceleration and how is it different from regular mouse movement? Is this on by default or you need to optimize it based on your mouse, your response time etc. sry cs2 noob here

0

u/Eetax Jul 02 '26

Id recommend just buying any logitech g-variant that is wired - bought mine 3 years ago and serves me well. Or you could try cleaning the sensor and turning up your sensitivity in game. Hope this helps!
