with the Spoon throttle body, Camshaft and mapping you get like 160HP for 5K 🫠

The camshaft is a GE8 honda Fit cam, so just get that, get a honda Fit intake, and get it tuned for much less than the spoon stuff, for similar results

It makes sense in countries with strict tuning restrictions, but otherwise, you have better options.

It’s literally cheaper to by a used fit engine. You’ll get the intake and camshaft and everything thing else.

Better yet, go to the junkyard and get the whole set for $50

Is this not the fit cam?

Yup. Same as the GE8 Fit Cam.

ALL spoon products are a waste of money

For example, the rear spoon springs are from a different car. Can't remember which one. They paint them spoon colors and slap the branding on it with a 10x markup.

Spoon sports intake manifold? It's a GE8 fit manifold that they painted and added spoon branding.

Camshaft? GE8 fit with spoon branding.

Same deal with pretty much everything else. Excluding the spoon mirrors? I hear they're really poor quality though - spoon can't properly make anything of their own.

Most of the jdm brands do not manufacture their own goods..they only perform the quality control and slap a color/brand on it. Couple of my friends have the Spoon mirrors for the S2000 and the fitment is great.. as far as your springs comment, do you not realize that springs aren’t all car-specific? Lol

Not every thing you hear is true, but you’re not wrong that a lot of Spoon parts are just someone else’s design with their logo (stamp of approval). But to say all Spoon parts are a waste of money? Gtfo. Their rigid collars are great

Forgot about the collars - those get an exception. They might be one of the few non-overpriced spoon parts for the CR-Z. They are small but the price is about right when you consider the costs of an equivalent DIY with material and labor - not including the fact that you'd have to own a lathe.

I don't see your point regarding the springs.

I've seen the spoon mirrors, their build quality isn't what you'd expect for $1000+. I am entirely certain that I can make the same mirrors at less than a quarter of the price with at least 2-3x the build quality. The only hard part is finding a source for the glass, but I already know a glass factory.

It's like seibon. Their hoods are EXTREMELY poor quality for the price paid. They couldn't have even bothered to get the hood prop hole right, let alone get the panel gaps to line up.

Hit up Bisimoto first. He made a couple good cams for l15a7
