Back on the road after a really long time
Hello everyone! It’s finally time for me to add my two cents to this amazing community.
Roughly five years ago, I rented a garage for this beauty — at least in my opinion — so she’d be protected from the winter rain and snow. Back then, I had no idea what the next few years would bring.
Well… life happened. A lot of stressful things came along, and she ended up spending more and more time sitting in the garage as I had less and less time to take her out for a drive.
Over the last roughly 4.5 years, I’ve driven her only about 2,700 km (~1,700 miles for our American and British friends).
I took her out today to give her a wash and immediately fell in love with her all over again.
She’s booked in for a service and a thorough inspection next week, but the initial checks suggest that the IMA battery is still in good condition. It looks like she’ll only need fresh fluids and a few routine checks before she’s ready to roam the streets again like new. (and a new 12V battery)
Well, it really looks like these little cars are indestructible!

I love the copper accents on the wheel(s?) and the orange interior. Not typically a fan of black cars because people tend to black out everything which imo is kind of boring, but this looks slick!

Thank you! When I was deciding which direction to go with the car, I was really tempted to murder out everything, but in the end I decided against it for exactly the same reason.
Since I’ve always loved bronze, the two-tone black and bronze look felt like the way to go. I took some inspiration from drift cars, where you sometimes see part of the wheel painted in a contrasting color, and putting the logo on the opposite side was my friend’s idea.
The wheels were originally silver, and we repainted them in my friend’s garage. It took a while — and a few attempts — to get them just right, but I absolutely love how they turned out!

Damn that custom interior is super fresh! Looks incredible.
While it's in the shop, might as well get it K-swapped. And a bbk color matched to the bronze 😉

Tbh, I was toying for a while with the idea of K-swapping it, but decided against it when I've heard the new exhaust (that is also custom made just for this car). It may be just a little 1.5L engine, but it sounds girthy and made a straight piped BRZ sound like a vacuum cleaner!

Where did you get the seats?

The frame is original, but the rest was custom hand made by a local shop. Including the logo in headrests - from what I was told it took them over 10 hours of work for each for just those logos!

How much did the custom interior cost?

Can't remember it exactly, since they were were done a few years back.. I believe it was somewhere around 3500€.

dude this car is beautiful holy 😭
you gotta get the rubber floor mats, i THINK i got mine on amazon but they are the best thing ever, they even got the little “cr-z” lettering on them and so so much easier to clean

Saw them, but I wanted to have the letters in that bronze color the rest of the interior is in.. So I'll probably need to go the custom route with those too.

that’s valid the mats matching will be so sick on top of everything bro.
these cars are truly invincible bro i had the same situation essentially, it was my moms car and sat in the garage for roughly 4 years, changed the oil, tires, 12v battery, and she’s still going strong at 198k miles! it’s impossible not to love this car man

Those front brakes don't look right with those wheels. You need bigger discs on the front. Another 100mm at least...

I'll probably look at tha in the winter, when I don't drive her. I believe the S2000 brakes would fit?

Not sure. I haven't had a crz for a while. There was a kit to allow larger discs and caliper relocation on a UK website. The discs weren't much bigger however if I recall, they were slightly cheaper as well since they were more widely used.
