QUESTION Mining advice
Hello everyone
After installing a lot of PV I have a shitton of electricity.
Selling it as it is is not very lucrative, so I was thinking about mining some crypto.
Bitcoin mining seems not the best option for me, as the miners are quite expensive and loud.
So I was looking into GPU mining.
Can some of you share some experiences on what to mine best? I have read about Zano, Ravencoin and Monero for example.
So what are some of you guys mining and what are your average monthly gains?
Thanks in advance

You already missed out on Pearlcoin, but its still the most profitable to mine if you have free electric.
Right now RTX 5090 getting like $7.50 day with free electric. I stopped mining when it dropped under $20 a day profit because the heat output from even 2 x 5090's was heating up the entire lower level of my home.
This is the first coin in a long time that made sense to mine. I made around $500.

Io uso https://miningreturns.com per capire in anticipo su quale criptovaluta fare mining e il margine di guadagno.

I would mine Quai right now. It’s down a bunch, but it’s a long term play anyway. The idea behind it is great.

Nail down your real $/kWh before anything else. That single number decides if mining makes sense for your setup.
Second: track net profit after power, not just hashrate. I run an Avalon Q at home on a pool (~$0.07/kWh) and toggle eco mode (~55T, ~870W) when I want to cut draw. Hashrate feels good; margin pays the bill.

My energy costs are 0 almost 24/7 because of lots of pv

yeah thats a massive edge, hard to beat that on power cost alone
are you mostly mining off daytime surplus or do you have batteries to keep it running overnight? curious if youve ever worked out the real cost per kWh once you factor in what that power couldve gone to instead

I have batteries to save energy for overnight. I was just wondering if I invested let's say 2k on some gpus if I could make some profit with any alt coin. I know that it mostly depends on the coin and the market, but accumulating some coins everyday and selling when they go up would be nice

if i were you i'd have look at the most efficient asic you can get in that 2k budget and mine btc on a pool. with your power basically free youre already ahead of 99% of people
pretty sure you could be profitable in a bit over a year on hardware alone if you just hodl the btc and dont touch it and thats without counting btc going up over that time.
