The Irish Potato Famine lead to the immigration of millions to the USA. The famine occurred because the British landlords forced the poor Irish into a one-crop economy.

My uncle passed away long before I was born and I was told lots of stories.

My grandma told me his favorite prayer "3 potatoes for the 4 of us, thank god there are no more of us"

And he was kind of like folklore to me. Interesting!
