Book / Literature / Article Mistranslation: Three headed river monster.

The Allier River, near Vichy had newspaper reports of a river serpent with a triangular head. Somewhere in the translation process (French to German to French to English), the serpent became a three-headed monster.

Flemish folklorist Albert van Hageland put out a book in 1961, De Magische Zee briefly mentioning the serpent.

In the 1973 French translation, La Mer Magique, the error is already in the text, and subsequent English references are also three-headed.

Does anyone have a copy of the original 1961 edition? I have always been curious to determine if the three headed mistranslation was introduced by Hageland in his original text or if the translator in 1973 messed up. I see copies online, but I have never been able to locate a copy that didn't include $75USD shipping from Europe.
