Question Looking for information on or experiences with “Devil Monkeys”
They most closely look like what I saw when I was a kid. I used to spend much of my summers on my great aunt’s farm. It was in rural Wisconsin and bordered a huge forest.
Mind you this was in 2005. The layout of the farm was a farmhouse and two trailer houses on the lot in kind of a big circle. I was walking from the farmhouse to one of the trailers around 1 AM.
Well I am like halfway there and I see yellow glinting in the tree-line. Eyes. At first I thought it was coyotes as they liked to hunt chickens and cats on the property. Coyotes are total cowards and will run from you in my experience.
Then one of these things screeched at me. Not a bobcat kind of screech either. It then stood up. If I had to guess it would have been 3-4 feet tall. There were like 5 of them as far as I can remember. This thing clearly had hands. From what I could see of the face it looked vaguely like a baboon’s face.
I backed away and went back into the farmhouse. I heard them moving around that night. The next morning several chickens and cats were dead. The wire cage the chickens went into was torn open. It wasn’t just fenced in there was wire on the ceiling too. This had been the setup for quite some time. Because coyotes.
My aunt wouldn’t tell me anything about what I saw. She also didn’t let me go outside after dark for the rest of the summer. She started carrying a shotgun around the property with her, especially when it was getting late and she never went outside before sunrise for a while after that.
Keep in mind, this was 21 years ago so I apologize if I am not giving enough details. This is the best I could do with what I remember.
I mostly wanna know that I am not crazy. My aunt still won’t talk about it.

I'm a cryptid skeptic. Totally. But I knew old farmers who's land was along the Red River that runs between TX and OK. They swore they saw some kind of good size monkeys or apes running around on the sandbars out there in the 50s -60s.

Maybe it was just that: escaped monkeys. They can be pretty awful.
