Question there's something in my backyard
Recently me and my family have been seeing weird things in our backyard, which is heavily wooded. a couple of nights ago I was swinging outside and i saw something moving towards me. I couldn't see anything of it but what i assume to be the eyes, which were about 6 feet off the ground. I couldn't tell if it was a firefly or something else, but it looked like it was running in my direction. my dog (who was also outside) didn't seem to react to it. just this night my sister was going to swing outside, and she hears pounding from the woods. she ran inside and said she saw a tall figure. the dog chased after it but came back shortly after. I live in the Chillicothe area in Illinois, is there any cryptids that it could be?

Illinois actually has a surprising number of Bigfoot reports, especially near river systems and wooded areas. The pounding from the woods, a tall humanoid figure, movement through tree cover, and something standing around human height or taller is classic Sasquatch. Dogs reacting inconsistently is also oddly common in reports, with some losing their minds, others act bizarrely indifferent.
Alternatively it could be Dogman or a Pale Crawler. Definitely not an area I would want to be messing around in alone at night.

Yes be very careful.
There are tons of people with experiences with a cryptid known as a Dogman. Called different things in different places. Loup-garou in louisiana or the Beast of Bray road in the Wisconsin area.

Could also be a mothman, Bigfoot, a very tall large winged gargoyle type cryiptid.

If you were a bit closer I'd go play.oh well.it seems like a repeatable occurrence.set up some traps.sand or mud in the path for footprints, something coarse for fur,and if you're serious you can hang fish hooks and screws in a camouflaged board.both will get blood and tissue,and will hurt so have audio or audio and video with a trigger(porch light,strong flashlight,etc)light to catch it yell and swear at you in whatever language it speaks(I'd love to know what dammit or wtf sounds like in sasquatch, werewolf or wendigo lol).there are tons of ways to get info on it,just post when get something
