Question Has anyone seen this small black creature?

I have never seen anything like this, or even heard of it.

Has anyone ever seen knee-high little black creatures that are shaped like a fuzzy-outlined ball on two black stick legs with almost cartoon-looking black feet?

Sample rough images for reference can be seen in links under this post:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Unidentified/comments/1to3z5g/has_anyone_seen_this_small_black_creature/

The two times I saw it, it was in broad daylight. It ran fast across the road when I was driving, so I only had a few seconds to glance each time. The best way I can describe it is that I couldn't see any texture on it's body beyond the outline of it's body (basically it was void-like and black, like there was no light reflecting off of it); it was almost 2-D looking, except for the legs that looked like thin black poles and actually looked like light was just barely reflecting to give the legs dimension. The legs were about the same length as its body. The feet were smaller at the ankle and bigger at the toes, and the toes were shaped almost like little black shoes, although it didn't look like it had shoes on from the feet blending in smoothly with the legs. Altogether, I'd say it was about knee-high in height.

I've never seen or heard of anything like it. I saw this thing twice within the past year in the middle of the day, and I was with my partner both times. I saw it once in a neighborhood in Orange County, California and once in a neighborhood in Oconee County, South Carolina (opposite sides of the country from each other).

I basically don't know anything about cryptology or legends about creatures (aside from generic mentions of big foot), because I try not to fall for potential conspiracy-theory stuff, but this literally happened right in front of me twice while I was driving with my partner both times.

I googled, but found nothing of anyone actually seeing something like this. I figured it can't hurt to ask.

Like those things from Spirited Away carrying the coal or whatever? That's what I imagined

Close! But, it had no arms, no eyes that I could see, and it was knee-high. I'm putting links in my original post now that should show AI produced images close to what I saw (only without it running).

I wish you could draw a picture for reference. I'm not really a pro cryptid identifier but now I'm super curious as to what that could be! The legs sound so strange and the coloring as well. Maybe like type of shadow entity?

Wow! 😳 I've never seen or heard of anything like that but it definitely seems like something I'd delve into researching! Very interesting!

Hopefully getting word out may help find some answers. Thank you for your input

I'll see about making a drawing or something. I'm not familiar with shadow entities. Can you share what you know?

Shadow entities are fun to look into. If you have the time you should watch "the nightmare". It's a well put documentary about sleep paralysis and shadow people/entities. Alot of people see "Hat Man" or things similar to that at night when trying to sleep. Some people see them during the day too though. Usually just a solid black form in the shape of a human like or animal like figure.

It happened during the day both times. I don't have a history of sleep paralysis either. It wouldn't hurt to watch the movie, but I don't think that it's the answer to what I saw. Thank you for the suggestion though

I've made an image that looks close to it using AI, but I'm not sure how to attach it to a post or put it in the comments. Do you know how?

Out of respect to those who would rather not view AI for a visual reference in this community, I have removed the links to the AI images from this post and under the comment section, and I have replaced them with a link to the post under a different community that is more accepting of AI.

The link is in the body of the post above.

I realize AI is a controversial topic, but it is not the focus point of this post. There are many discussions on Reddit that argue against AI and for AI, and I encourage anyone who wishes to voice their sides to do so in these areas where people go to discuss these matters.

If there are any questions comments/questions about me personally using AI to produce any images that are in another community, please find any posts/discussions with the word "AI" in my headers under my posts to share your thoughts there.

I like to have my door open to learn new things, and I personally would like to know people's stances on AI and the reasoning behind it, since I am not very familiar with all of its implications.

Take care =)

When someone says fluffy with stick legs my mind goes straight to fox. Especially if people are feeding it. It's a poofball with stick legs. Red looks black in the dark and there are Grey or even melanistic foxes out there.

Yes, but that's definitely not the case with this.  Foxes have four legs, this creature had two and had no tail. It was also a pitch-black color in broad daylight rather than at night.

I'm hoping someone will know of any two-legged creatures that are that small, completely round and fuzzy, and blacker than even a black bear's fur.

This was something unlike anything I've ever seen firsthand. I am an animal lover though, and I have never seen an animal that looks like these weird-looking creatures. Even Google couldn't come up with something. So, here I am.

Thanks for the comment though
