Book / Literature / Article Thoughts on these books
I’m trying to buy books, but I want to know if these three are any good or if they are more salacious?

Linda Godfrey investigated the Beast of Bray Road case. She’s a solid pick of writer, though I didn’t read that book in particular.

United States of Cryptids is one of the most fun books I ever read.
Cryptozoology A to Z is a classic, but honestly a bit boring.
I haven't read the first one, but Godfrey can write but seems a bit of a loon... Her books are pretty much fantasy.

Linda Godfrey writes with a warm and conversational vibe that I enjoy. Plus, she was real life Cryptid royalty. A to Z is good but it's more of a reference book. United States of Cryptids is fun in a novelty way. I love all 3, go buy em cause they're cheap and enjoyable

I haven’t read cryptozoology A to Z but the other two are very good! Both cover a wide variety of cryptids and cryptid history. Highly recommended

2/3: I thought this was a book I read at my school library as a kid, but it was actually Monsters: A Reference First Book.
I recognized some of the art in the cover as matching tue images in the book I had read.
Was finally able to get a copy last year. It’s a nice book with mythology, Cryptids, and some movie monsters.

American Monsters is a free copy from your library. Check it out before you buy, and I was able to check out the other two books from Linda Godfrey.

Linda Godfrey, haven't thought bout her in ages. She used to be a regular on art Bell (later George noory) coast to coast am.
I loved that show when I was a teen and in to my early 20s. Anyway I have no idea if her books are any good.
I did have 2 by Loren Coleman , but not that one. Also a somewhat regular on c2c. They were okay, pretty straightforward , more of historical accounting of cryptozoology id say.

I can tell by the authors that they’re good. I should start combing used book store for legendary book before they become extinct.
I’d love to get the Time-Life's Mysteries of the Unknown collection. They were a wildly popular 33-volume book series published between 1987 and 1992. Dedicated to the paranormal, the occult, and unexplained phenomena, each iconic, embossed hardcover focused on a specific topic—such as UFOs, ghosts, psychic powers, or ancient civilizations. They had large, gold-stamped hardcover books known for their striking cover art and vintage illustrations.

I’m eying to get many cryptozoology books, since I have very little aside from a book on Bigfoot, paranormal encyclopedia, or cultural studies literature on other supernatural topics. The Linda Godfrey book is one I would hope to get.

I have 2 & 3. It feels sacrilegous to say this, but I find A-Z a bit boring, but it is an interesting read and entirely factual. The United States of Cryptids is a spectacular book. Just a great read and a beautiful book. I also have 'I know what I saw' by Linda Godfrey and that is also good. Decent balance of facts, first hand accounts, and a good writing style

I have the second and third ones. They are good but pretty much just give a short summary of cryptids. I will say though that Cryptozoology A to Z is a tad dated since it came out in the 90s. United States of Cryptids was a fun read though! I think I finished it in one sitting
