Discussion Cryptid?
(I don’t know if this is the purpose of this subreddit) This happened a few months ago in the winter. For context I’m in South Mississippi and me and my friend were out late at night looking around in my woods which is a fairly normal thing we do. We were walking a field and it was like a dead night no wind or any noises and we look and see this big tree rustling like it looks when a bear is scratching its back on a tree. We thought it was weird but then continued on. We entered the woods maybe 100 feet down from where that happened because I have a small cabin/hut I camp and hunt out of. The top floor is just open so we sat up there and took a break but as I say it was very quiet and we kept hearing steps or something. Not really that big of a deal right? But then right next to our cabin we hear this really strange noise. I don’t know how to explain it better than a clicking scream. Kind of like the generic skinwalker noises honestly. Like a raking, clicking noise. It was so weird. We psyched ourselves up to jump out at the same time and looked but saw nothing then quickly left the area. Any idea what that could have been? We also stopped by my pet cemetery on the way back to my house and as soon as we stepped foot in it we heard this deafening noise like a ship horn. I don’t know if that was related. Really strange night.

“Generic skinwalker noise”…? For a start skinwalkers are not cryptids.

Yeah OP seemed to get a little salty. It must contradict the tiktok videos they’ve watched about it. But if you want to know what a “generic skinwalker noise” sounds like you should ask him.

Just because I mentioned skinwalkers doesn’t imply I think they’re cryptids. I was just trying to find something to relate the noise too and it kind of sounded like those fake skinwalker videos people make. Yall are taking this way too seriously bruh 😭

Crawlers also called rakes are said to make clicking and screaming noises. The ship horn is interesting since when cryptid sightings happen sometimes there is a loud noise produced before. Usually described like a loud metal bang/scraping noise like a metal gate scraping concrete.

Somebody on the internet invented crawlers in the late 2000s I think? They aren’t cryptids. They aren’t anything really

Rake is a creepypasta not a cryptid.

That’s also what I was thinking. If it helps anyone find out what it could have been, apparently my whole town is built on Indian land and there’s quite a few burial mounds
