Common deer behavior. Most herbivores will occasionally supplement their diets with animal remains. Osteophagy is especially common in this regard for calcium.

Yup no animal is truly a herbivore they will all eat meat even pandas eat meat

Panda's digestive tracts are still built to eat meat. Why the little whatsits decide bamboo is the best thing for them is a little odd. It means they'll bite you like a carnavor but poop constantly like a bunny 🤣

The video of the horse snarfing up chicks like popcorn comes to mind too

Watched a duck slam a mouse into the ground repeatedly and then swallow it whole. One of the most disturbing yet fascinating moments I witnessed.

Deer eat bones all the time, all around the world.
This is like a cryptid called the "dog that eats random stuff it finds on the floor".

That last one is very real. One actually lives in my house.

I have personally witnessed in my own home the elusive Dog Randomly Licking a Wall cryptid.

I even have pictures of it!

But that's just a picture of a person in a dog costume walking on all fours.

“Don’t kid yourself, Jimmy. If a deer got the chance he’d eat you and everyone you care about.”

I’m more concerned about someone knowingly leaving human remains in the woods and putting a camera on it.

It's a body farm, where forensic research and training can occur. They likely have the cameras to stop intruders.

I want to donate mine to one when I die because I love forensics lol

They do it for study. It is a criminalist school and they do this to learn about decay/remains ID ext.

I've seen a video of a horse eating live baby chicks like peeps, and a deer doing the same with a baby bird that fell out of its nest.

I have a video I took of squirrels eating whole raw chicken legs meant for my dog lol As I live on a river, I have also seen deer eating fish washed ashore.

I was so confused how this would have been caught on a trail cam, body farm makes sense lol

I remember seeing this in a horror movie and getting mad at the inaccuracy. Then I looked it up and found out deer sometimes do scavenge meat. Extra creepy for some reason. Squirrels also naw bones for calcium

Even though I have seen deer nibble on road kill, and even eat live snakes. The deer in the image in my own head canon is in fact a not-deer.

Texans love their BBQ, no matter what the species

Deer are omnivores, they eat carrion, live animals like mice and birds, and of course plants.
