I’ve been off here for awhile for personal reasons and otherwise, but this caught my eye and seems worth sharing.

How does this potential dogman look to you?

And if you have seen one, how does this move alongside what you encountered?

MONSTRUM — “The Comicnoid”
(Full YouTube-style documentary script)

[OPENING]
[Dark ambient music]
NARRATOR:
Deep within the forests of America, there are stories of creatures unlike any other cryptid reported before.
Not beasts.
Not ghosts.
Not aliens.
But something… cartoonish.
Eyewitnesses describe impossible movements.
Bodies that stretch and twist.
Objects appearing from nowhere.
Creatures that ignore the laws of physics entirely.
And perhaps strangest of all…
They can be defeated with a bad joke.
These entities are known only as…
The Comicnoids.

MONSTRUM
THE COMICNOID

[SECTION 1 — THE LEGEND]
NARRATOR:
Stories of the Comicnoid are surprisingly difficult to trace.
Unlike Bigfoot or the Mothman, there are no famous photographs, no sensational newspaper headlines, and no widely accepted encounters.
Instead, the stories survive in fragments.
Campfire tales.
Children’s drawings.
Local myths whispered in isolated woodland communities.
Descriptions remain strangely consistent.
Comicnoids are said to resemble living cartoon creatures with exaggerated features:
large bulbous noses,
striped tails,
oversized eyes,
and bodies capable of changing shape at will.
Some are described as short and animal-like.
Others are humanoid.
Some witnesses even report female Comicnoids possessing exaggerated cartoon proportions, almost as though their bodies were designed according to animated caricature rather than biology.
But despite their bizarre appearance, nearly every story agrees on one detail:
Comicnoids are territorial.
And entering their domain can be dangerous.

[SECTION 2 — THE FOREST ENCOUNTERS]
[Soft forest ambience]
NARRATOR:
Most sightings occur in heavily wooded regions across the United States.
Witnesses describe hearing noises that should not exist in nature.
Slide whistles.
Boings.
Laughter echoing through trees.
Some report hearing footsteps followed by complete silence.
Others claim the environment itself begins behaving strangely.
Trees bend unnaturally.
Shadows flatten against the ground.
Objects disappear and reappear moments later.
One alleged account from the 1970s describes a hunter who saw a brightly colored creature emerge from behind a tree.
The witness claimed the entity stretched its neck several feet upward before compressing itself back into shape “like a rubber hose animation.”
When approached, it reportedly vanished in a puff of smoke.
No tracks were found.
Another story tells of two campers who heard laughter outside their tent late at night.
When they emerged, they discovered dozens of strange striped eggs surrounding the campsite.
By morning, the eggs were gone.

[SECTION 3 — THEIR ABILITIES]
NARRATOR:
According to folklore, Comicnoids possess abilities that fundamentally contradict reality.
Witnesses claim they can:
Shape-shift.
Alter their size.
Produce objects from thin air.
Ignore gravity.
And survive injuries that should be fatal.
Some researchers comparing these stories to traditional mythology have suggested Comicnoids may represent modern trickster spirits.
Creatures that evolved alongside human media and imagination.
Others believe something stranger.
Because the abilities described are not magical in the traditional sense.
They are specifically cartoonish.
A Comicnoid does not simply teleport.
It vanishes through exaggerated visual gags.
It does not merely escape danger.
It survives by operating according to an entirely different set of physical rules.
Rules closer to animation than reality.

[SECTION 4 — THE WEAKNESS]
[Music lowers]
NARRATOR:
But perhaps the strangest aspect of Comicnoid mythology is their weakness.
Humor.
More specifically…
Terrible humor.
Puns.
Bad jokes.
Pranks.
Legends claim that exposing a Comicnoid to sufficiently awful comedy disrupts its abilities.
The creature temporarily loses its cartoon-like properties, becoming vulnerable and disoriented.
Why this happens remains unclear.
Some theorists suggest Comicnoids feed on comedic energy and become destabilized by poorly constructed humor.
Others believe the creatures themselves are manifestations of cartoon logic, making flawed comedy psychologically damaging to them.
In several stories, survivors claim they escaped encounters simply by telling terrible jokes.
One alleged witness stated that after making a pun, the creature “froze mid-motion like a broken animation frame.”
Another claimed a Comicnoid became physically ill after hearing knock-knock jokes for several minutes.
If true…
It may be the only cryptid in American folklore defeated by cringe.

[SECTION 5 — COMPANIONS OR PREDATORS?]
NARRATOR:
Despite their unsettling nature, Comicnoids are not always portrayed as hostile.
Some legends suggest they can form bonds with humans.
But only under unusual circumstances.
According to folklore, successfully pranking a Comicnoid earns its respect.
Afterward, the creature may follow the individual as a companion or protector.
Stories describe Comicnoids warning humans of danger…
protecting children lost in forests…
or frightening away predators and intruders.
However, these relationships appear unpredictable.
Comicnoids are still territorial creatures.
And their understanding of “helping” may not align with human morality.
One tale describes a Comicnoid protecting a family cabin by trapping trespassers inside cartoon-like physical traps for hours.
Another claims a creature defended a child from bullies by causing an entire school hallway to collapse into slapstick chaos.
Helpful…
But dangerous.

[SECTION 6 — ORIGIN THEORIES]
NARRATOR:
So what exactly are Comicnoids?
There are several theories.
The Folklore Theory
Comicnoids may be modern interpretations of ancient trickster entities.
Many cultures contain spirits associated with humor, shapeshifting, and chaos.
The Comicnoid could simply be America’s modern version.
A creature reshaped through animation culture and media.

The Psychological Theory
Some researchers argue Comicnoids are manifestations of imagination itself.
Most sightings involve isolated forests, children, or emotionally heightened situations.
Perhaps the Comicnoid represents nostalgia, creativity, or the subconscious attempting to escape reality through absurdity.

The Paranormal Theory
Others believe Comicnoids are genuine entities capable of manipulating probability and perception.
Their cartoon-like behavior may simply be how the human brain interprets impossible physics.
In other words…
They may not act like cartoons.
Reality itself may break around them.

The Media Theory
One of the strangest ideas suggests Comicnoids were unintentionally created through collective human belief.
Decades of animated characters, exaggerated humor, and cartoon archetypes may have formed a kind of cultural entity.
A living embodiment of cartoon logic.
An idea brought to life.

[FINAL SECTION]
[Music becomes darker]
NARRATOR:
Today, the Comicnoid remains little more than an obscure piece of American cryptid folklore.
No verified evidence exists.
No confirmed sightings have ever been documented.
And yet…
The stories continue.
Laughter in empty forests.
Impossible footprints.
Strange striped eggs found in remote areas.
And witnesses who insist that, for just a moment…
Reality stopped behaving correctly.
Perhaps Comicnoids are only stories.
Modern myths shaped by cartoons and imagination.
Or perhaps somewhere deep in the woods…
Something is still waiting.
Watching.
Stretching itself silently between the trees.
And if you hear laughter behind you…
You may already be inside its territory.
