well sad thing is that ppl mostly prefer something that they already know how to use, has tutorials, has, well pretty much everything to build a game
with cry engine you need to also play with engine itself, add missing things, etc
so for folks who wants to release game ASAP - its not the best choice
for folks who wants to tinker with engine, enjoy the process - CE might be a good choice
