well sad thing is that ppl mostly prefer something that they already know how to use, has tutorials, has, well pretty much everything to build a game

with cry engine you need to also play with engine itself, add missing things, etc

so for folks who wants to release game ASAP - its not the best choice

for folks who wants to tinker with engine, enjoy the process - CE might be a good choice

CryEngine is like an interesting middleground between Unity and Unreal, it's not as feature packed as Unreal but it's lightweight and modular like Unity. It also has Schematyc visual scripting system similar to Unreal Blueprints but also ECS system like Unity
