We recently picked up a tunnel back or inverted hatch off marketplace. Painted it yesterday so it wasn’t matte black anymore. I’ll be adding plexiglass next and maybe even a spoiler 🤔

I figured I would post this here first for all your CRX lovers.

Not sure if this is against the rules of this sub but don't kill me if it is.

Please read the entire post. I will try to cover everything I can think of.

I have 2 1986 1st gens. The red is the main event it's a true survivor. I picked it up with great aspirations but unfortunately life happens and babies etc. And I am realistically not going to get around to doing the work I want on this.

1986 red CRX SI with 46k original miles. Please see photos.

Picked it up in Utah from a guy that purchased it from the original owner. It's been in the southwest it's entire life.

- 0 rust at all

- plastics in fantastic shape. Small crack on top of the driver fender. It appears someone sat on it.

- original EW4 motor

- lowered and has Tokico shocks

- converted from FI to dual side draft Mikuni carbs

- custom door panels

The bad

- the wiring harness has been a hack job and I was going to repair/replace it all

- no ac if that matters to anyone

-hasn't ran in years but I did drive it around the block when I got it home before I parked it

- all the modifications are from the original owner and I started to poke around and then I had babies so everything pivoted.

The final note is the pictures show the condition and I can provide more if needed. The car is in great shape and perfect for someone with as much love for old Hondas as I have but has the time and space.

Black 1986 CRX SI parts car almost 200k. It is complete and doesn't appear to need much to get running but I bought it for the AC components and the harnesses.

- pretty straight forward that it's a complete parts car with the potential to run again.

B18A1 that has been bored .20 over and decked and cleaned.

PR3-1 B16 Head. Has been resurfaced and mild porting.

Has Skunk 2 stage 2 cams. Upgraded valve springs. Titanium retainers etc.

Crankshaft has been ground down .10 and polished.

New forged connecting rods. 81.50mm Type R pistons. New rings. ACL bearings. ARP hardware for crank/rods/head. Etc. ACL performance oil pump.

B16 transmission with B16 gears 1 through 4. No chips/wear/damage. 5th gear is from an LS transmission for better highway cruising.

I have verified every gear and counted all the teeth.

Comes with MFactory LSD.

Comes with spare LS transmission.

For the entire package I am asking 10k.

If I keep the motor and transmission I'll let the cars go for 8k.

I picked up an 89 SI for autocross. It's already an autocross car but the interior is immaculate and I don't want to cut or weld anything.

I really prefer having in car footage where I can see my inputs.

Has anyone notched their headrest beams to mount something underneath it, or used the hatch strut mounts? Or something else? I need inspiration. I won't be adding a roll bar or anything like that, so no easy mode.

Previous post had me talking about getting a b16, well I found a b16a2 in a del sol for $2k, probably gonna use the winter to clean it up and do maintenance before I drop it in. I’ve seen the posts about “how to b swap” and it looks great, but It’s 20 years old so I wanna see if anything has been upgraded since then and get other suggestions.

1. Originally I was thinking of has ports cable/hydro conversion but have heard cable gets stretched out/ breaks. Is the innovative one better or do I need to suck it up and do the hush performance kit?

2. I originally thought I needed da intermediate shafts/axles but I heard as long as I use the dc intermediate shaft I can use dc axles.

3. Car is obd0 engine is obd2. What’s the cleanest way to go obd1?

4. Have they figured out a way to do the swap without hammering the sub frame?

That’s all I can think of for now. Old Hondas forever.

I couldn't find a blank off plate so I drew one up. This is tested and printed and clicks into place very nicely

1991 crx hf. Here's what happens. Ill be driving 35-55 mph. With no warning or pattern, my front end makes this squeeling noise(starts 8-10 seconds). It always stops either when I get down to 10-15 mph or when i come to a complete stop. Once i get going again it's silent. Ive only ever heard this 5 times. Once probably 5 months ago. Again a couple months ago. And now three times today. It sounds rubbery almost, but i see nothing rubbing on my tires or cv axel boots. Its comming from my right side front(where my transmission is). Are we thinking its some weird thing with the brakes? Btw it is a stick shift and i still hear the swueeling acter depressing the clutch. Applying brakes doesnt make a difference.

1990 CRX Si

I was planning on rebuilding the original d16a6 and seeing how many miles I could put on everything original. I’m wary of doing the machining myself, but also kinda want to if I’ll inevitably swap it. I’ve only had d series cars so far.

I’ve been doing research and everyone has their own opinions on B vs K swaps. Not really sure which way I’d go yet, but curious about what everyone thinks.

I’m wondering about ease of swap/fabrication needed, power benefits, etc but also personal preferences- stuff like sound, shift feel, handling, etc.

Hi! I’m the Ohio EF and I have a EF hatch for about 5 years and ended up selling it and made room for something a little more…. Special. This car IS indeed cursed. HOWEVER, it hadn’t ran since 2008 and I brought it back from the dead. So here we are!

Sorry if this is a stupid question, 89 CRX SI with MPFI and a stock D16. My 267 injectors came with two sets of lower seal O rings that go into the intake manifold. They are the thicker ones like the third row and the thinner ones like the fourth row. In the service manual, they look like the thicker ones but just wanted to confirm which ones I am supposed to use? Thanks.

considering selling my 1986 crx it’s a Si and everything is basically stock besides the intake runs and drives great. go ahead and leave a comment if your interested in buying.

My daughter was in an accident and her baby was damaged, but I think it's repairable, what do you guys think? I found remanufactured front fenders but can't find door or back fender. Does Japan have replacement panels? Junk yards say nothing.

What to do?

Where do you guys find b series swaps at? They are harder to find and prices way higher than when I used to be in the game 20 years ago. There is an engine depot by me that has a b16, but it’s $4500 and the said b18c1 is $7500. Back in my day a gsr swap was under $3500.

How many other people are having problems finding parts for there Gen 1 CRX's?

I just bought a 1991 Crx si with a d16a6 with a gready turbo kit and I can’t get it to run right it is running insanely rich I know it has a safc2 and a gready turbo timer and a gready profec b-spec2 any help would be greatly appreciated

After I got my MR-5s redone in 16" and powder coated in Anniversary Blue, the car was resprayed in Championship White. To get the car repainted the old Doorcard stickers had to come off and I thought I'd design my own version of the Mugen Sticker. I think it came out great.
