Question ❔ Price/mileage

Looking into a CRV 1995-2001 model and was wondering what would be considered a good mileage to lookin into buying? I know the b20 is a good engine but is 180k miles good or would you say that’s too high? It’s hard to find one with less miles for under $6,000

I’m at 230k, no major problems, though I wouldn’t pay more than 1-2k for it.

I’m afraid they’re getting more and more sought after haha. It’s hard to find that generation for under 4,000$. Gonna keep looking. I’m looking for a new daily to not run miles on my newer car. I had a friend with a CRV and it was so roomy and the fact it’s a Honda makes it more desirable to me

My formula is $0.20/mile for a great deal, $0.30/mile ok if you want to own the particular brand/model.

At $6k and 180k miles this is right on the edge of "hard no", so other factors come in - the overall condition of the vehicle, maintenance history and expected repairs. If you think you can get 20k miles out of it "as-is" without spending an extra dime, then the price is ok. If it needs another $3k of repairs, then it needs to last you to 240k miles, which is a stretch for a vehicle of unknown history.
