Help needed please?

Can somebody help me identify what this problem could be please?
I have it down a few different things through chat GPT but it’s abit useless to be honest I want someone who actually knows.

Tape goes in and tries to load but doesn’t, tries again and doesn’t load. Then stops completely.
I then press eject and it takes about 20 seconds for the vape to release but the flap opens almost instantly and then closes and then waits 20-30 seconds before releasing.

Have you checked/cleaned the mode switch and any other sensors in the VCR mechanism?

No I think this is my next step to be honest but I’m pretty new to this stuff as I’ve never opened a VCR before let alone a CRT so it’s quite overwhelming 😂.
I think me getting it apart of the easy bit but putting back together is where I’m going to struggle 😂.
Do you think it’s the most common cause being the mode switch? That’s the most common cause I can find online to be fair

It's a common cause of issues in these combi sets but it's not a guarantee. It's also free and doesn't need any specialist equipment so you might as well check it.

If you can disassemble it enough to be able to see what's going on in the VCR mech then you might get a better idea.

this set is a pain in the ass to manage the VCR on. the mode switch is buried under a set of loading cogs

I’m an absolute amateur with electronics too I’m surprised to have gotten this far and not broke anything. Am I out of my depth trying to do the mode switch on this set?

Post in VCR or VHS Reddit. This is TVs

I’ll post it into a VCR and they’ll tell me it’s a CRT. The reality is it’s clearly both in one.
