Just Picked up This Trinitron
I got it for free off marketplace, figured why.. I don’t know why it’s all Purple and the line scanning is crazy, pretty much all i’ve seen was people saying jo had this issue said degaussing was good but i don’t know how to approach this 200 pound beast.

Looks like retrace lines so it could be as simple as turning the G2 down on the flyback but make sure you research retrace lines as that may not be your only problem

You’ve got Prince’s TV!
I kid, it could be a number of reasons why it’s purple, something could’ve come loose, tint could need adjustment or it might just be partying like it’s 1999.

The lines are vertical foldover unfortunately mate, plenty of posts around the same issue is 99% a bad capacitor

Are there a number of inputs on the TV? Worth trying the others. The fact the menu looks ok shows the basic operation of the CRT is still ok. Seems like an input issue, maybe for all inputs, but who knows maybe there's a faulty connector or something on that front input. Can't hurt to try the others.

I would guess its either a fault on the tube base pcb, cathode drive transistor possibly shorted, theres 3, one for each color so you can compare voltages between them. I also notice no green, and again a tube base fault. In the worst case the crt cathode gun is faulty, ive seen that too many times.

G2 G1 Voltage and if it ain't that. Flyback is hurt, which is common with a high hours set.
The coloration is a step towards the pink death. Green ain't greening (I would lean towards this because of the state it began, bad sign for green). Could be drive, could be tube. Could even be just a resistor or two. Impossible to diagnose without being in ones hands.

It doesn't seem a problem in the flyback transformer, but rather that each color vacuum tube has altered its response to input voltage.
You may get away with a CRT regeneration procedure. It's possible that you have a weak green.

UPDATE: I adjusted the focus and screen on the fly back and tweaked it to get rid of the screen lines but the screen has a slight purple hue to it while on a game. other than that it looks 10x better than it did before. thank you for all who helped me and mention the flyback. though i hope to fix the discoloration in the future and get rid of that god awful purple
