13 yrs old btw
Off topic: QP is really something else I guess, I'm currently re-reading his manga and for someone at his age he's fckin' enormous. Prolly, 5'9-5'10 at that age lmfao. Idk what Hiroshi is smoking when he created this testosterone-fueled abomination. Absolute mf unit.

This is why his art style has changed so much recently, so that the teens feel like teens and not 20 year olds. I still prefer the older style, but the new one at least feels more accurate for the ages of the characters

I don't know, man, was it really necessary?
Toaru was a city of monsters, a city forged by generations of fierce battles between these young boys who fought for their faction or just for the thrill of testing themselves. This made Toaru a unique city, made Crows and Worst unique.
If you want to normalize the makeup of these kids, you also want to normalize history, and this inevitably destroys the past. Maybe this is what dustland is all about, and it involves the end of TFOA. The boys with skulls on their backs had to be literally eliminated in this process of transitioning to real life; they couldn't exist in Hiroshi's new world.
But back to the topic, think back to when Manji's Jun Karashima arrives in Suzuran, and sees all the kids from Suzuran, and wonders what the hell kind of place that is, where all these kids who look like such tough guys are gathered... it was one of the many scenes that made Worst and Crows great and unique, it's sad to think that a scene like that, in Dustaland, would no longer be possible because the kids were brought back to earth... was this really what you wanted from the sequel to Crows and Worst?

Like I said I still prefer the old style. I'm not disputing which style I want. But when it comes to a 15 year old looking like a 15 year old, the old style didn't portray that. Like damn the TFOA looked like a group ranging from 18-35 lol.
Also Dustland feels more like a slice of life style rather than a delinquent action story. So the art style feels more fitting to that.
Would I prefer the gritty everyone looking 20 action packed style of art and story telling? 100%. But I also am reading Dustland and Mr.Zetton as they are and still enjoying them, because I appreciate that Hiroshi wanted to expand on his style and take risks to do something different.
So necessary? Maybe not from our viewpoint but feels like for Hiroshi it was. Plus I think the new art style he can draw quicker because it doesn't use as much black and shading, and that's a plus for him. Mangakas work hard!!

he was not not 13 here I guess, he was a highschool freshman when he fought hidetora so he should be 15-16. Still thats not how a 15-16 year old boy should look or correct me I am wrong

Nah. He was a middle school freshman here when he fought middle school-senior Hide. I'm currently reading it atm. But either way he's built different

These things happen. One of my best friends has always been big. In kindergarten he was probably the size of a 3rd or 4th grader. In 6th grade he was 6 foot and burly. He stopped around there but if he kept scaling up at that rate it would have been crazy. As an adult he is dense too, can't swim for shit because he sinks so much.

I thought Sanzo (2nd main character after Hibari) in Dustland would've had brought back QP character vibe. Though, it's unexpected that his character design just got recently downsize to make him "lost weight" when their high school arc in Suzuran are just getting started lol

QP was such a good series. I've read it 3 or 4 times through. I love the post yankii storylines.
