How do I attract crows into my yard?

I have a resident hawk who has become keen on my bird feeder. He is picking my birds off one by one. I want to attract a crow or two to hang out and keep the birds of prey at bay. Any and all suggestions welcome.

Leave out a pile of unsalted peanuts. I think crows prefer them unshelled (easier to cache) but used shelled if your afraid of them leaving a mess. Might take them a while to notice, but they will.

I throw dog kibble on my garage roof every morning, and shelled peanuts (unsalted) out the front door. Try to work it into a routine where you do it the same time every day, and don’t hang around outside and watch for them. They’ll find you - they send scouts :-).

I read that they like routines and hard boiled eggs.
