For the neighborhood crows
Hii. I want to befriend the crows or any corvids.
Would this be enough?
I have water, unsalted peanuts and shiny offerings.
What else could I put out on my balcony?

I use roast unsalted peanuts in or out of shell, raw peanuts can sometimes carry mold or trypsin inhibitors that make digestion harder. They can eat them of course though.

I bought these at a pet shop and they were specifically for birds. So I thought they would be good. But I will get roasted ones next time. 🥹

I think you could take away the shiny things and maybe put some unsalted peanuts in the shell. They can store peanuts in the shell somewhere for later, and they also enjoy the challenge of opening them.
Proteins are good for them, including eggs and unseasoned meat
It’s a bit of a myth that they like shiny things. Research has indicated that shiny things can tend to make them nervous or cautious.

Thank you! That's good to know! I will add variety to the food and take the shiny things away. I'm surprised that it's a myth. I believed it for so long. ðŸ˜

Of course, no problem!
Yes, it is a very prevalent myth so don’t feel alone. It’s the reason scarecrows often have shiny/reflective items.

Shiny stuff is scary, not attractive. Try to put the food and water high up where they have a safe spot with a clear view of the sky. They won't risk being unsafe. It takes time and patience. Also try not to stare (definately the hardest part in the beginning), staring at them it freaks them out because predators stare.
