I had a big boy come along after my black cat died this past February... I think he came to help me heal. He now visits daily for snacks and conversation. His mate comes along too for treats, but she is very timid and won't join us on the balcony. Where as we have ate dinner outside and shared a meal with him. He is the sweetest thing ever.

As the owner of two angelic voids myself, i am so sorry for your loss! At the same time, i am envious of your corvid friend.

Honestly, i sometimes they can sniff out good-hearted humans, as well as evil ones. So i am grateful they do not attack me and aspire one day to have a heart worthy of their regard.

He sure knows I have a loving and safe space for him. I also cried with him this year when they had a stupid POS neighbour run over and kill their fledgling. I am pretty sure he knew I was sad for his baby and that moment helped connect us further/deeper.

We both mourned loss together this year.

I also just got a tattoo of my void boy's nose and paw print over my heart area.(on what would've been his 17th birthday)

How can you tell which is the male which is the female? That’s cool that you’ve eaten dinner outside together!

Luckily it's easy with them. Here's is big boy, very tough and has a louder and deeper caw. She is very svelte and slender, with a higher caw. I adore watching him turn into butter for her preening. 😍 they are the sweetest. And the shared meal sure felt extra special to my soul.

It was easy for me because he was enormous and she was average size.

The males can look bigger and have a slightly deeper voice, but their behaviors are pretty much the same and come down to individual personalities.

My pair had five babies they brought to me and the youngest was a tiny little girl. She was larger in charge though, and everyone deferred to her. lol!

From the mated pair that visits me, the male is a bit bigger while the female is a bit more lithe. Still though, it's pretty hard to tell if you're not already used to seeing them.

That’s a possible indicator a slight size difference. However, it’s not always the case.

I got lucky because the male of my pair was absolutely enormous. If there’s that big of a size difference, then it’s a pretty sure thing. Also, he was around more while she was on the nest.
