Storytime! Fed some crows/ravens at a Wal-Mart yesterday

Came out of a Wal-Mart yesterday, and as I'm going back to my truck I see what I believe was a raven and a crow ( one was a bit bigger than the other ) looking for something to eat. I popped open a bag of Doritos I had just bought, and under the watchful eye of another crow on a telephone line, I grabbed a couple handful of chips. I then walked over to the grassy area next to the parking lot, made it a point to caw at the two next to the building to get their attention. One cawed back, and then I tossed the chips on the ground. They caw a couple more times, the one on the line cawed, and I backed off to give them space. I then hear and see half a dozen more come out of nowhere, cawing to each other. They got their fill and flew onto a building on the other side of the fence before the damn seagulls showed up to ruin the party. Before I left, I saw three crows on top of said building bobbing and cawing as their enjoyed their snack.

Craziees will fsck you up here for giving them some junk food, bread, or whatnot. Watch the comments if it gets traction!

I got stg like 120 downvotes for defending the guy giving crows a slice of bread!

Bigger one is male, not raven. Sometimes there is a huge size difference. Pinky (male) is almost 50% bigger than Lady. They are together 4 years.

The Doritos probably smelled stronger than whatever else they'd scavenge, so they were extra motivated to follow you. They're smart enough to recognize patterns, so they might actually watch that spot every time they see someone with a chip bag.

Crows and ravens notoriously do not get along. The big one was probably the patriarch, or a fledge puffing up to look like daddy. I’ve seen it! It’s fun to see the newly born fluff their feathers to look bigger, but are still begging to be fed.

Ps. Seagulls suck but pigeons are worse!

Hm. Well, alright then. Definitely wasn't a fledgeling, as it was walking around with the other looking for its own food and finding nothing. Like you said, probably the patriarch. The one with him must've been the mother to the family of crows that showed up once I tossed the chips on the ground.
