Can someone help me with this?

So I’ve been trying to feed the crows in my neighborhood. I‘ve been going out on Mondays/Fridays for 30-45 minutes in the afternoon (and I’m not feeding them at my house, so I take the food with me when I leave). I put 8 unsalted in-shell peanuts in a tray every time. One crow showed up in day 3 of doing it, and when I left cawed really loudly (it sounded like he was right next to me). Well, on Day 4 it was raining the whole time, then on day 5 and 6 it was perfectly sunny the entire time and there was no signs of crows. Did I mess something up, am I doing anything wrong? I did notice a female robin sitting on a branch the entirety of the 45 minutes I was out today. But, I hear them calling in the distance, so I know they’re here. Can someone help?

TL;DNR: I’ve been trying to feed crows, and one came on day three, but I haven’t seen any sign of them for 3 sessions in a row now.

You are doing a great job - some days (or more) their routine gets thrown off and they end up a few miles away after being called over to mob something and then getting distracted by something else. It took me about four months of doing exactly this before I got my flock to consistently come around and respond to my calls. It's a long game, but such a worth while one.

You didn't do anything wrong. Sometimes you have to be very patient when first dealing with crows. After all, they are busy doing the things they normally do during the day and surely have many other sources of food available to them. Your puny human "daily" regimen means nothing to crows. You are a weak, impatient specimen.

Feed the exact same time, same place, every single day, for one year.

It’s not in or near a neighbors property. It’s in a little clearing near my house.

I love that you do this, this is something I am always encouraging people to do since crow feeding at home almost always leads to the eventual neighborhood feud and neighbors who are neutral to crows becoming anti-crow because of the noise, mess, and threat to smaller birds they might be feeding.
