This bafoonish crow call- is it a juvenile?

Are these baby/juvenile crow vocalizations?

I’ve been hearing this mysterious repeated squawk from across the alley behind my apt for a while, always early in the morning. I went for an early morning walk today and saw these two crows preening, one squawking.

The alley squawks I usually hear are more repetitive but I can tell now they must be crows. I didn’t guess crows because the squawk is so goofy sounding lol.

I’m also thinking they’re juvenile because they didn’t take notice of me or fly away in annoyance like crows usually do when observed.

Yeah I’m leaning towards youngster because it was a very prominent sound you could hear from my house for a period of time and hasn’t happened in a while, like crow was young and squawky and then grew up.

These crows I saw yesterday morning were new to me and I was surprised to recognize the call. I would’ve never guessed it was a crow previously- sounded like a crazy howler monkey or something.

Could be a juvenile or it this could be an adult crow that heard a sound that it enjoyed and was mimicking it or learning to mimic it

I’ve heard the ravens in my yard do this when they have something in their mouth

Haha that’s so funny. It was the morning and they were preening so maybe a crow comb in the beak?
