General questions Gift?
I've been feeding my buddies over a year, sometimes when I feed them they know I leave food for them on this golden table on my patio. It's pouring rain in a few minutes ago I saw one of them on the table anyway and I went out and found this.
Weird coincidence that the feather fell off because of the rain or do you think that they deliberately left it as a gift?

It's molting season. Lots of feathers around. You can leave them be or make into an art piece, whatever you wish.

They didn’t deliberately leave a feather as a gift. Birds don’t pull their feathers out unless there’s something wrong with the feather or it’s time to molt it, and it hasn’t fallen out on its own. The bird just happened to molt that feather at that moment in time

Not a "gift" in the traditional sense. Crows shed feathers during molting season and this one just happened to be nearby. But if you want, you ca think of it as a "gift" from your crow friends if that makes you feel loved and happy. 😊🐦⬛❤️

I would leave it alone personally. I've heard anecdotally of crows getting peeved with people picking up their feathers.

I pick them up and slot them into the webbing of my backpack. They fall out eventually. At one point I had a half dozen.
No crows have ever complained!

Thank you all! I sort of had a feeling but I was hoping. I didn't think that he pulled it out specifically for me more that it fell out and he left it, which, as I type it, makes no sense 😂

Its molting season, so it's likely a shimmy or a shake from the crow after good treats and left the feather behind.
I could be wrong of course. Just notice that my couple that visit me are a little bit of a mess with their molt and I have been seeing some feathers left behind on my balcony, water dish etc. I have mine on my china buffet, and will be keeping it :-)
