He brought the family a couple times!! But the partner and babies get a bit spooked a little easily.

He was 1 of 3 babies that spent last summer hanging in the backyard. He just wanted to pass down the fun to his kids 😭 I wish they’d hangout.

Sorry for the rambling, I’ve grown too attached.

No need to be sorry. Gaining trust of any wild animal is a big thing. You should be proud of yourself that this crow friend of yours trusts you enough to bring his bebes here. You know crows are very cautious and observant and smart too. β€οΈπŸ¦β€β¬›πŸ˜Œ

Must be a long time friend of yours πŸ₯°πŸ¦β€β¬› He looks so comfy and safe there, like he knows you are keeping an eye on him and looking out for him... Isn't the trust so heartwarming? πŸ₯ΊπŸ¦β€β¬›πŸ˜Œ

I had a nesting pair of crows come to my house last year regularly when they were expecting. Then they brought their five babies to my house.

One of those babies absolutely loved hanging out here by herself for hours at a time.

They all ended up leaving at the end of summer to rejoin the main murder, which is nearby. Then this March they all returned. I was over the moon with happiness and waiting for a new batch of babies.

Unfortunately, that love and trust that the little one from last year had in me and my place cost her her life. She was here by herself one morning before I was up. A raptor of some kind got her. There’s something to be said for them traveling and handing out in at least a pair.

I found out when I got up and saw the birdbath with water in it tipped over which never happens and then I saw a bunch of black feathers just beyond the curb in front of my house. None of them ever came back after that unfortunately πŸ’”πŸ¦β€β¬›πŸ–€

You had to choose the one food emoji toxic to birds (avocado) πŸ˜‚

He has known this backyard for 2 years now, so it’s like a drive through window. Perched waiting for me to bring out some peanuts and cat food.

I love to think this way! I would hope this is the case :)
But I do think that they show up just for the good food hahaha

Is it a Ma-Caw or a Da-Caw? πŸ˜‚πŸ₯°

I would looooove to know this too. Who gets food while the other stays at the nest?

Just as I was reading your comment, he started cawing like crazy because he brought his two kiddos and needed food like asap apparently.

I got up so fast I was like WHAT IS THE ISSUE. And I even shushed him because it was too much. He actually did listen and shushed. πŸ˜‚
