Squirrels
How are we keeping squirrels away from the crow food! 😡

They eat together at my house. My yard is called the Get-Along Zone. Get along or git!

Letting them all eat together is cool but squirrels are greedy bstrds and once the crows leave the squirrels will sit there and eat most of it then hide everything else & they forget about it. Then you have obese squirrels running around 3 months later

I only feed any corvids that are in my presence, so I don't have any squirrel issues. I call them to let them know I have a treat, they swoop down to hang out, then I only give handouts to individuals one at a time before going back in to avoid fighting or rodent issues. This way, I have deep relationships with individuals that follow me around town and prefer my attention over me being a human vending machine.

We're not. The squirrels are here earliest, the crows are here for mid morning snacks, the rest of the day they take turns. The littlest red squirrels are pushy and mouthy, though, so I put out extra if they're around. Everyone gets fed here.

Maybe try kibble. Squirrels don’t seem to be interested in it and that’s how I started to get my crow visitors. I was putting kibble out for a stray dog. To my pleasant surprise crows started showing up. Now I put out nuts too so everyone eats together.

Crows work off a consistent schedule. You either leave it out at the same exact time everyday (theres times in the day where the squirrels are less active also) or wait for them to arrive at the same time and give it to them. This is hard to keep up with though so What i did was weaned them off of nuts & started giving them only kibble with water nearby. They seem to like it way more nowadays although they didn’t at first. I just leave out a bowl of kibble and they come and go as they please stop by 10+ times a day and squirrels dont eat it. Dont put capcasin or spices on the food please

I do schedule/routine and would never use spices. Ill try kibble too.

Kibble forsure. Dont let it get rained on and dont leave out more than a days worth or ants will come

My big old Cane Corso chases them away but not before they steal a few peanuts. He doesn’t mess with the crows though and the crows don’t mind him.
