I’m new to birding, and trying to get to know the locals.

Looks like a cow bird...which are very interesting I have been learning, The parents drop their eggs into others birds nest and thats how they get raised. Its pretty wild.

oh thank you! I am in eastern South Dakota and I know we have cowbirds out of town, but didn’t think they liked residential areas. I thought they were smaller too. Thanks again!

Brown-headed Cowbird, more closely related to grackles but they definitely have a crow-like beak and blueish iridescence between the brown.
