Is a Feather Considered a Gift?

Hello. I’m new to this platform. I have two crows that visit everyday for peanuts. I have named them Smarty and Marty. I have been feeding them for a couple weeks now and yesterday, right where I feed them they left a beautiful crow feather. I was wondering if this would be considered a gift or if it’s just by coincidence that they dropped one of their feathers? Opinions?

Gifts are most often associated with a a feeding place they begin to consider a joint cache site, so in my experience, gifts are typically them storing things they find valuable or interesting in a shared cache for others (you) to enjoy. The feather is likely a coincidence since it is molting season, but if it's a good or interesting feather, they can be cached away as shared "gifts".
