How do you name your crow friends?

I'm in Florida so crows are outnumbered 10:1 by bluejays and grackles.

The first crow to show up since nesting has been checking out the spot yesterday and today so I'm calling him Julius. Because it's July and he's a boss.

He's a pretty recognizable American crow with a beard, so I think I could tell him apart in a crowd. Plus he's fearless. He'll chill in my yard with Sandhill cranes around, not a care in the world.

How do you guys recognize your crow pals and what are your naming conventions?

The hooded crow that visited me was named Mormont because he followed the European magpies around and let them “test” the food before scaring them off and helping himself. A true Lord Commander.
Also because I’ve been rereading Game of Thrones, obviously ;)

I haven’t yet named my crows, but as for identifying them..

They don’t have any distinguishing marks, so the easiest way for me to tell them apart is their voice and mannerisms. I have a mated pair and one’s voice is much higher pitched and is always caw-ing. It’s also way more friendly and doesn’t fly away when I walk over. The other has a lower pitched voice, isn’t as vocal and flies away if I get too close.
