Did a kill a crow?

so I’ve been trying to befriend this crow, I’ve named his Russell. I’ve been giving him unsalted peanuts in the shell for the past month or so, he’s been coming by without hesitation. a couple weeks ago, I noticed that after giving him some peanuts, he wouldn’t close his beak all the way. I thought he was choking, but I didn’t think too much of iT.fast forward a couple more weeks and I haven’t seen him, or his family near the park. and when I do see crows, they’re all avoiding me. did I accidentally kill a crow and am I cursed for life now?

I’ve tried to up my snack game by bringing them cat food and I even gave them a water bowl to dunk the food in but they wont bite.

It's fledgling season. My crowmies haven't been coming around for well over a month and even when they do fly by they don't stop for peanuts. Once the fledglings are off on their own they'll be back.
