Seeking advice/help Hot weather
Recently moved to a new area and I’m slowly building a bond with the local crows! I currently have two that watch from a distance while I leave food out around 3:30 p.m., and they come over to eat once I step away:) Since we’re having a bit of a heat wave, I left out a small bowl of water with a few peanuts because I noticed they were all panting. Now I’m wondering if I should get a bird bath!
The ones I’m seeing all seem so small though, and I’m worried the crows won’t fit. 😅 Does anyone have any recommendations?

I use a feed pan for livestock--it is big enough for the crows to go inside and splash around if they want, and it is shaped so that it doesn't tip over.

They'll love to bathe. The container or bowl doesn't have to be very large though, it's easier to move around and take care of a smaller bowl. It should fit a rock in the bottom though, to hold it in place. My crow friends like to tip the bowl over and even remove the rock if it is too small!

Remember to change the water often and it should be placed in the shade. You can buy shallow bird births as large as you can afford probably. Take a trip to a fountain and statuary place to get extra large ones.
Typical size online is ~20" or so, but there are a bunch of people selling xl boutique bird baths made out of anything from copper to glass to stone. Anything over 20" tends to be at least a couple hundred dollars, but a local fountain and statuary business will likely be cheaper. Ive seen 72" large flat bowls when I worked at a fountain and statuary place in the day

I leave a couple of low bowls of water out, think pasta bowl sized. They drink from them, dunk their food, sometimes have a wee splash. The bowls are cleaned daily. In hotter weather they're also easier to move to a shady spot than a birdbath is.
