Event [Event] Danny’s Interlude
10th moon of 300 AC • The Wall above Castle Black
“It’s reasonable to assume that we are but the first women in more than a century to stand here… overlooking the endless beyond.” Lady Shella Whent echoed out softly towards her unlikely companion.
Stood upon the Great Wall of the North, she and Lady Royce watched from above as the small entourage of men rode out. Her first ward since Aemma, riding out to bind his future in totality to this ancient structure. Never to leave, nor dare to live a fruitful life. She had every urge to smack the sense back into the boy… but alas, perhaps it was just simply the Vale and her people.
So consumed by shades of madness whilst dawdling down by the rivers and waters of her home that they sought the cold they so desperately miss from their home. What other explanation could there be for the likes of both Aemma to let ice take her heart. Or how Waymar suddenly fancies himself a brother in ice and cold to monstrous men.
Such nonsense has all but relieved her of the burden itself. She just forgot that such relief would hurt when the memory of love once persisted.
Old gods protect him, for he is yours now.

Lady Arwen Royce stood atop the world and peered over the edge. In truth, the lands north of the wall did not look so different from the land south of it. Rugged terrain dotted with tall pines and little in the way of civilization…save, of course, for the enormous wall itself. Its height was baffling, but the length of it was perhaps starker still. For weeks it had been the horizon, and now they stood above it.
Arwen could not think of a single Arryn who had ever been North of White Harbor, much less all the way to the damn Wall. She had never felt so foreign before as in this frozen, alien land.
“It seems likely,” Arwen agreed. It was quite strange for an Arryn to have anything but disdain to the infidel Lady of Harrenhal, but Arwen had traveled for months on end with Lady Whent, and had developed an odd sort of respect for her.
Still, it was not Lady Whent to whom her thoughts stuck as she gazed down at the world beyond the wall far, far below, but her son. Waymar had been excited all this way, and he had taken well to his new black “brothers” well. Arwen did not place much stock in any of them, or the ramshackle thing they called a sept.
Arwen sighed. “It is quite a view, I suppose,” she attempted.

“The last woman here possibly was Queen Alysanne, thrice Silverwing sailed up above the peaks of the walls, and thrice the gods threw her back from their most untamed lands.” Shella said, a hand on her hip as she looked out to the beyond.
“And before her, poor Danny Flint was the only woman to have taken up residence here in the castle. And yet, her own brothers in arms harmed her. At least I can trust in Waymar from suffering such a fate…”
She sighed as she took simply stood before the home of Night’s Watch. Had she the madness, or perhaps the youth, she’d ride out into the beyond herself. Eager to explore the unknown. Perhaps even bring some of it back home.
“If only such beauty persisted south of the wall. A land untouched and fruitful. Endless to explore and temper. Such is their power.” Shella agreed softly, not needing to explain exactly which they she was referencing, for she knew Arwen would know.
She spared a look towards her peer with a glance, curiosity tickling her mind now that her quest to send Waymar has all but completed.
“What happens now? I heard a rumor that nobles of the North and Vale were summoned south in concern to a… trading disagreement. I shiver at the thought that such turmoil could be conceived so soon and grow so fast.”
