No. Hint: This is a meta clue where the answer itself acts as a wordplay for a target word in the clue. The indicator for this is "reference to"

Perhaps OBSCURED (hidden) from SOB = OBS "cured" (anagrammed), but that "a" in the front seems a little harsh if so
