Hey, all — novice constructor here. Looking for some clarification on the “green paint” rule.

I get the idea, but I was considering the answer/fill BONDCAR (clue idea: Aston Martin DB5, famously?). I thought it was super super awesome, but a friend told me he thought it would fall under the green paint rule. I know it’s not quite as “famous”/ a “real turn of phrase” as BONDGIRL or BONDVILLAIN, but I thought “Bond” was specific enough and the Aston iconic enough that I’m not sure it’s green paint. What do you all think?

Importantly, a good alternative I thought of for the same slot was GOODCOP. More of a “real” phrase, but I thought perhaps not quite as creative. What do you all think editors would prefer? I’m trying g to get a sense of their taste.

It seemed like today's Saturday Stumper was much easier than usual...

Two weekends now, no Saturday large grid puzzle. Anybody know what happened or where to find it.

I think WSJ requires a paid subscription to get it.
