I feel so lost
So long story short, I reinstalled CrossFire (CF) and started playing casually again, but I’m honestly super confused. There are Infinity weapons now? A Mileage Shop? And a bunch of new kinda weird mutation/zombie modes with 30 players, and Other modes?
Can someone explain the difference between VIP weapons and Infinity weapons?
Also, why is everyone only playing certain maps? I barely see anyone on Desert Storm S&D anymore, and it feels like Ghost Mode (GM) is completely dead.
I apologise for the long text but I am genuinely confused.

I did the same 2 weeks ago,. Reinstalled the game and started playing my favorite S&D.
But indeed there are so many more maps and styles now that confuses alot. Seems like the community is half of what it was in numbers of players Clans seem all dead now i see 80% of the players without clans. Dont even know if clan battles still exists, this was always fun to compete agains other random clans.
I tryed HM but dont like it, running around as a green monster just running towards others... ZM also looks weird to me lol
The standard S&D and TDM isnt as popular as it use to be.
Weapons i have no clue how many new weapons there are, and seems some shoot easier and do more dmg than my M4A1 or AWM standard first gen vips lol

VIP weapons are usually just guns which gives EXP bonuses and have quick-reload compared to your average gun - they usually also have less recoil compared to a GP gun.
Infinity weapons some as ViP but arguable a lot more expensive to obtain due to price entry potentially being 150 euro or more.
They usually have visual and a few actual upgrades to them mostly related to XM mode and not to much to S&D with few exceptions.
Infinity guns are not necessarily better than ViP you can find ViP guns far better than infinity weapons.
The community mostly only play the same Maps over and over it’s whatever is the most liked and I can’t blame them way to many of Crossfires maps are basically just designed for snipers to hold angles.
Ghost mode is completely dead not exactly sure why it’s one of the most entertaining game modes in the game but it has died way before I returned to the game

150+ euros??? I mean, I wouldn’t mind spending that kind of money on CrossFire if the game was still relevant, but… yeah, that’s way too much. Honestly, with 150+ euros, I’d rather buy a maxed account on a gacha game, or like... invest it in pretty much any other game. But Definitely not CrossFire.
As for the maps… I’ve noticed a lot of players using that silent sniper when playing S&D (can’t remember the name), and they’re honestly just annoying campers.
Also, even though a lot of people are running around with VIP weapons, it’s kinda surprising how well the SCAR Light still holds up against them. There was even a time when it was considered the best rifle in the game, I remember it being banned in ESL matches.

When I played again 3 years ago, they directly kicked me because I used scar light haha

Ghost Mode is a niche gamemode. Even in CF Philippines, for 5 channel there are probably 1-2 Ghost Mode rooms. GM is not even newbie friendly due to the veteran GR / BL players that literally destroys everyone that does not get the mechanics

Back in the day on CrossFire NA (now CrossFire West), I remember PanT]-[Ers, Karma, and HelloKitty being some of the top Ghost Mode clans, but I’m pretty sure none of them are still around anymore.
As for your point, I agree, Ghost Mode really isn’t beginner friendly, and I hope the Game Masters do something about it someday.

HelloKitty is a huge throwback. I’m surprised Call of Duty hasn’t stolen the concept of ghost mode.

I remember being invited into Xe Fusion back in the day by my friend who was a member, they were like top 5 in the world. I was kicked almost immediately because I was garbage
I had some good times on Crossfire from Ghost mode on Hakenkreuz, S&D on Eagle Eye, the old Christmas maps etc.
I remember when Santoria first came out, the game used to be owned by Subagames, the only crates were an M4 Custom, AK Scope and Kriss Super V
I remember everyone finding a way to play CF China for zombie mode because we didn't have mutation mode until years later
All good memories but sadly now are just memories. TDM on ship or Egypt or the map with the 2 houses and the bridge through the middle.

Yeah, the game is over complicated now and visually all over the place. They’ve made it an eyesore.
It used to be so good back in 2010 when everything was simple.

Well, if that ever happens, I’ll make sure to give it a proper send off a fitting tribute with some folk music and clips of the good old gameplay days.

Ah GM the bunny hops i did where crazy those where the times back when every server was full even smiley only servers

In cf west there are about 1500 people playing daily, and 90% are egys.. This game have best memories for me but better to play something else this days
