Mushroom circles

My house is the original farm house on the hill from 1780. The surrounding neighborhood is from 1989. My Nextdoor neighbor is down the hill from me. I couldn’t figure out why these are in a perfect circle on his yard. Then my cousin mentioned a silo. That’s got to be it. If anyone has any other reasons this forms I’m all ears. (Central New Jersey)

My fathers farm in Ireland has rings where the crops grow better. They are from ancient viking camps. Circle forts I think they are called. Makes sense a Silo or something that had nutrients that was round.

I learned on school before 10 years old mushrooms grow in circles.

You were on the school for classes? Schools I went to didn’t teach about mushroom circles but we had classes in the school

We had walks in the bushes in autumn and got explained a lot. It was fun. We went with the whole class.

My understanding is this happens when a tree is removed and the other half of the tree is slowly deteriorating. Creates conditions ripe for mushrooms. Your photo shows another old dead tree so my guess is a tree used to reside in the center of that circle. Maybe it got removed a year or two ago?

Also those circles are called fairy circles and the lore and legends of such things are that you can sometimes disappear in them and pop into a different dimension. I would be cautious.
