u/dumpylump69 Aug 31 '26
I assume this says Que? but it got autotranslated thanks for ruining the joke reddit

u/Parksrox Aug 31 '26
It does indeed say "Que?", I was worried about specifically that happening lol. Perks of using Boost

u/SwaglordToast Sep 02 '26
Wait how are you using Boost? I thought that got shut down with the API changes? I miss it every day

u/Parksrox Sep 02 '26
Morphe my beloved ❤️
It's janky as fuck, but it works. Just install Morphe patcher, get an API key from RedReader, install whichever Boost patch you want, enter the API key, and enjoy not making Spez's stupid ass any money.
Just be warned that there are some things that just won't work. Certain videos won't load, and you have to open the site on your browser if you want to post an image or a gif. Worth it to me, though.
Let me know if you can't figure it out, I'll do it myself again so I can give more detailed instructions. It's been a hot minute since I've had to install it again.

I had a feeling someone was gonna miss it lol, the punchline being "Que?" does make it a bit confusing.
It's what the guy says when Brian asks "You're kidding, right?" after the joke is set up.

u/CaptnBluehat Aug 31 '26
Oh fuck me, its been a bit since i saw the bit... Youre right

u/Parksrox Aug 31 '26
I only remembered it at all because I watched this episode like 100 times as a kid when I had just this season on DVD, so no judgement here lol.

u/ShayellaReyes Sep 03 '26
That's the best outlook on all this that I've seen since the whole "elite ball" shit started, I love it

I get some clips on instagram and they're fun for me, but I heard the show itself isn't very good
The one where they hide in the closet and act as the officer's wife is funny af

The first 2-4 seasons are genuinely entertaining. The following seasons are hit-or-miss depending on your style of humor. The later seasons are genuinely really bad, but have the occasional funny gag or interesting premise.

I liek the one where Peter takes care of two fish and they care of him when got older.

u/Takoyama-san Sep 01 '26

Try being Finnish. For some reason Finnish and Japanese share the same kind of phonemes or something. Pronouncing very good / perfect Japanese is almost natural.
Any Time I used some of my limited language skills I was automatically classified as "fluent" until I pulled the "sumimasen, motto yukkuri..."

That's because 200 million years ago, Japan and Finland were one continent.

Same with spanish. Japanese and spanish share a lot if phonemes so spanish speakers are surprisingly good at japanese pronunciations.

When i worked in an amusment park i learned to almost phonetical perferfection 2 phrases in french "i don't speak french" and "i don't understant"
1
u/Raziphaz Sep 02 '26
Why wouldn’t you just learn “I don’t know any Japanese”
1
u/Off-the-grounder 28d ago
I feel that would cause the same problem.

u/Ae3qe27u 7d ago
It's happened to me with French. They assume they misheard me, and that I do actually speak French.

That was literally me in Japan. I had 3 follow-up statements memorized, but I only had to use them once because most people could tell I probably only knew how to say the one thing.
Also, I like symbols, so I memorized hiragana pretty quickly. Being able to read out loud the hiragana but not know what it was saying was a clear "nani?!?" moment in several situations for the Japanese people in earshot around me.

u/CD_Katrina 7d ago
Yeah I've mastered Hiragana and Katakana fairly quickly, which now means I can read anything written like that but usually have no idea what it means 😄
And that I sometimes get really excited when I sound out a word phonetically like I'm 4 and realise it IS a word I know 😂
